Cricket Wireless now offering free calls to Haiti
Soon after T-Mobile announced that they were offering free phone calls to Haiti, prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless announced a similar move. Voice customers on Cricket will now have the ability to make phone calls to Haiti without the worry of seeing exorbitant charges for them. Although T-Mobile is extending the offer until the end of the month, Cricket is only allowing free unlimited calling between now and midnight Eastern Standard Time on Friday, January 22, 2010. Additionally they are participating in the text messaging program with the American Red Cross to enable customers to make donations to those affected by the earthquakes in Haiti. Still it’s a bold move for a prepaid wireless carrier to offer and shows their commitment in aiding the efforts going on.
