I never liked Apple, but what you say is stupid, we need competition in the market, and i hope Apple starts changing a lot ( OS, restrictions, price,..) Then in 5 or 10 years I might consider buying the iphone.

12. PhoneArenaUser posted on 12 Feb 2013, 11:26 12

I agree, we need competition, but not from Apple because Apple's competition occurs only through courts.

13. wendygarett posted on 12 Feb 2013, 11:34 1

@phonearenauser, as much as I never offense your comment, can you do me a favor for replace your current avatar into healthier one? Please? :p

btw, the court case already happen since 90s where Apple sue Microsoft as making a Macintosh clone os... So don't hate because it's their culture... The court case ended after Apple decided to kick Steve jobs out due to several reasons back then... history repeated after Apple appoint him back :(

54. jrparnell1977 posted on 12 Feb 2013, 21:22 3

@wendygarett, why don't you change your avatar as well? Yours isn't very healthy. Also, I see on here where nobody likes you at all. So why dont you try to be a little nicer, or take your a$$ to cupertino where all of the other a$$holes are. Apple is going down b!tch.

39. Mxyzptlk posted on 12 Feb 2013, 15:59 4

No we need competition that come up with their own ideas and not copy them from Apple or other companies.

PC GUI. LG Prada. Drop down notification shade. Wireless sync. Active stylus. Smaller tablet. Larger smartphone. Swipe to unlock.

Most of what Apple puts out is copied.

52. darkkjedii posted on 12 Feb 2013, 20:28 2

Most of what everybody puts out is copied nowadays. Rite now the innovation engine is mostly stalled, save for a few small things from Samsung, popup vid, multi window. We r looking at a few years before revolutionary innovation occurs again. Ted what do u think the next game changer hardware/software wise will be?

No, the right reason is: The market is expanding. So there's obviously an opportunity for WP/BB10/Android/iOS to grow and Sailfish/Ubuntu to make a mark. This in turn will help us to get better and cheaper products.

Why people hate so much apple

15. feres13 posted on 12 Feb 2013, 11:39 7

Seriously i don't understand apple haters, even if you say something good about apple, they THUMB YOU DOWN, they treat you of a f*g, an iWh*re, an iFanboy, that you are retarted and that you s*uck tim cook's d**k. And even if i like both Android and iOS EQUALLY, when i say that there's something wrong with android ( precisely lack of apps polish or tablet apps ) they tell you you're ignorant or to go F*ck yourself.
Really Android fanboys, and apple haters generally are worse than apple fanboys.
I never saw a singe comment with more than 10 thumbs up (or even 5) and no thumbs down that tells something good about apple.
And when a news comes out about the iPhone, they rush to bash it and get tons of thumbs up, like if they even care. Seriously they also say that "iPhonearena posts too many news about the iPhone" while the iPhone has 362 articles while the S3 has over 400, and we knwo how arly leaks were.
Seriously phonearena should do this, they should make seperate sections for every platform, so we know who the fanboys are.
And a little message to apple haters : you guys are pathetic, if you think your platform is better than the olther, keep it for you, of you see a news about apple, don't click on it, you hate apple, right? oltherwise, you're just a troll that has no life.

20. darkkjedii posted on 12 Feb 2013, 12:03 5

Dude that's the post of the year. Well said agreed agreed agreed.

41. androiddownsouth posted on 12 Feb 2013, 16:13 4

I understand the idea of the post, and there is some truth to it, but it most definitely is not the post of the year. Two requirements would require it to be properly written and punctuated. The way it is written makes it a touch hard to read.......

Both sides of the argument have some very mean spirited people. These are phones for crying out loud. It isn't worth getting worked up about.

44. darkkjedii posted on 12 Feb 2013, 17:22 2

Punctuation aside...that guy hit the nail on the head. And so did u about the these are phones part.

24. frydaexiii posted on 12 Feb 2013, 12:54 19

Fine, lets try this then... I will try to be as unbiased as I can possibly be.

I love the build quality of Apple products and sometimes I wish my SGS3 was built with similar materials as an iPhone 4 (Not the 5, that thin cheap aluminium is worst than plastic lol). I also love the amount of quality apps available compared to the Google Play Store, however, what I don't like is that some apps tare being charged a fee while Android gets it for free (eg. Dolphin, Angry Birds, Whatsapp etc).

And yes, Apple changed the mobile industry with the first iPhone by being the first smooth and user-friendly touch screen phone and made mobile-broadband mainstream with the iPhone 3GS. However, due credit has been given when these 2 devices were released and Apple should stop living in their past glory and start innovating or at least keep up with it's competition again instead of stalling and giving excuses (eg. Samsung's new Smart Stay/Rotate, Popup Play, Multiwindow, Apple only has Siri, which is still doesn't work right and Apple Maps, their excuse for both these 2 products for being bad is it's in "Beta"). Do they need to have Samsung beat them in build-quality (I imagine a metal built Galaxy SX?) too before they realize they can't keep holding tech back to keep their products "new" within their closed walls?

Yes, Apple changed handphones forever with the iPhone, and so did Nicolas Joseph Cugnot with the first steam engine powered car, but do you think we'd get this far with cars if everyone just stalled and not improve on the steam engine car?

There, lets see how many hits this gets, I believe this is a fair judgement on Apple (I've already left out some stuff like the endless lawsuits and patent trolling)

25. darkkjedii posted on 12 Feb 2013, 12:58 1

Very fair and a great post, but u didn't hate on or treat apple bad enough. Android nation is gonna attack u. U know with "most of them" it's 100% hate or else. They're gonna attack me too

34. Kal-el posted on 12 Feb 2013, 14:35 4

F ** ing brilliant! loved the steam engine thing

36. Kirmani posted on 12 Feb 2013, 15:06 3

A true and fair judgement really...!!! I think I'll use your opinion on my blog. You are so right on your steam engine example and what I think is with Apple's products quality and OS and Samsung's functionality's integration there will be a perfect smartphone.

Btw Apple is an old player in this field and it still has much more money in reserves than Samasung, I strongly believe this. And all those people who are saying Apple this Apple that should know that the one who is on CEO post must be someone genius and must have something on mind. Always know that an organisation sometimes have to sacrifice short-time success for long term plans.

And besides if thats it, if Apple is losing from their competitors, they can have a come back, they stand very firm on financial grounds.

Btw that was a one sided statement. Sincerely I am a iFanboy since I bought iPhone 2G it was something I had never seen. But now at this point I have iPhone 4 I've also seen iPhone and used SGS3 too, and I was really fascinated by the functionality of S3, it really is something and somewhere in the corner of mind I thought of buying S3 but I won't I'm used to Apple's products so much. And Samsung's products are so appreciable, way to go Samsung, its really gonna be an amazing battle and the best part is it is gonna decrease prices down ;) lol

30. tedkord posted on 12 Feb 2013, 13:58 4

I don't hate Apple. I hate Apples underhanded, bullying business practices. I hate that they file for a patent on any idea they can think up, then even if they're not using that patent try to sue. I hate that they take advantage of the understaffed, idiotic patent office to get ridiculous, obvious, overly broad and already existing patents, then sue to ban competitors.

Apple's practices stifle innovation. It ensures that no matter what platform I choose, it will be less advanced and more expensive than need be.

37. Whateverman posted on 12 Feb 2013, 15:24 1

I think many people only hate Apple as an extension of their hatred for Steve Jobs. Let's be honest... To most, he wasn't a very nice guy and when you're the face of a company, that company can take on the CEO's faults and attributes. It's hard sometimes to separate the CEO from the company and the Apple/SJ combination is the perfect example of that. So when SJ says something like, "They're holding it wrong", some people don't think its a jerk of a CEO just saying something not-so-smart. Some take it as another example of Apple's arrogance and an office company stance. It's not right, but it seems as though that's what happens.

40. darkkjedii posted on 12 Feb 2013, 16:12 2

Very good post bro

46. androiddownsouth posted on 12 Feb 2013, 18:30 5

Lots of people hate on Apple b/c of the bs litigation as well. Suing people for things like "slide to unlock" and "rectangle with rounded corners" is just f***ing stupid. If someone bought a Samsung by accident while trying to buy an iPhone should pay better attention b/c it is their fault, and vice versa. That takes care of the appearance part. As for the "slide to unlock", where do I begin? If anyone on this Earth bought a phone to "slide to unlock", that is just sad.......

imo, Apple and their image would benefit greatly from moving away from the courtroom and back to a renewed focus on making truly game changing products. They haven't done that since the 3G.

49. PhoneArenaUser posted on 12 Feb 2013, 19:45 2

@oister85 "Why people hate so much apple"

I don't know about the others, but for example I don't like Apple as a company because of Apple's politics and morality and how they achieve their objectives and goals.

Last I checked Android out sells Apple!

http://www.phonearena.com/news/By-December-there-will-be-800-million-Android-phones-active-vs.-300-million-Apple-iPhones_id39652

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Android-made-up-86-of-Q4-smartphone-shipments-in-China-iOS-was-12_id39354

Apple= 1 phone a year so no wonder sale for Iphone 5 are high. Duh!

Android has dozens of phones per year and sales are split up among different manufacturers. Put all those Android sales up against Apples sales and it's no contest!

So all this Iphone 5 sales being so high isn't so high when it comes to Apple vs Android!

Android fans like having a choice of features, size, and looks ect. Open source = customization. Something you get from Apple!

If Android ONLY offered 1 phone based on the features of the best sellers Android OS has to offer right now. I KNOW it would out sell Icrap 5 hands down!

Thumbs up if you agree!

48. D_Tech-tive posted on 12 Feb 2013, 19:08
