Cook calls Apple "a force for good in the world"

0. phoneArena 29 Oct 2013, 09:09 posted on

As we told you on Monday, while talking to analysts during Apple's third quarter conference call, Apple CEO Tim Cook predicted that "it's going to be an iPad Christmas." The comment harkens back to a statement made by the late Steve Jobs when he debuted the original Apple iPad in 2010; Jobs' comment at the time, was that 2010 would be "the year of iPad"...

Is it safe to assume that you don't have any products made in China and you didn't contribute to the so called suicides? :)

Open your PC and guess where most of the parts are made.

I sure now that most of the stuff in this world are made in China. But at least other companies don't say as stupid things as Apple. Apple fanboys sure are idiots believe whatever they say.

The same applies to Samsung and other android OEMs.

At least with Apple, you have more transparency and independent third party reviews. Apple's transparency was entirely something they did to set a standard for the entire industry.

Just do us a favor and google deaths at Samsung plants and (assuming you get the correct Korean translations), you will see it's much worse at Samsung.

They're both horrible when it comes to that and not worthy of our praise. No company is a saint and that should be the first thing to change.

Samsung didn't hold a press conference to say that they are a force for good. Js

Believing that it's Apple fault that people committed suicide proves that you're more idiotic than them all.

To apple: you SEVERELY LIMIT consumer choice and freedom. So severely that that the USSR's iron curtain is the epitome of liberty and human rights next to your TYRANNY.

Good? No sir. None at all.

Wow... you just compared Apple to Stalin. Really?

Apple isn't the cleanest fruit out there, but the hate people post is just beyond what I could possibly understand. One might buy a company's product and hit some bad luck... twice. Scorned, you swear off that brand and deter others when they ask you for your opinion on it.

But comparing a company to someone who slaughtered millions under his dictatorship? Where is coming from?

How are consumer's choices and freedom severely limited when at anytime you can spend your money elsewhere or rather never even buy one Apple product if you choose not too?

Look at all the other closed ecosystems we have today. If it weren't for apple, there wouldn't be nearly as many of them and they wouldn't be nearly as popular.

We can compare how companies were acting before apple's walled garden - and afterwards.

"good"

Apple definition: make a lot -as much as possible- of money from consumer.

Consumer definition: make a "good" phone at a reasonable price.

Please do not brag about how much/what/where you spend your money.

That's any company's definition. It's also called capitalism.

He's just too biased to see it that way. He'd rather bash Apple for playing the same game as all other companies. Apple just happens to do it much better than others.

Really. Charging and arm and a leg price! Using cheap shattering glad, no Bluetooth, cheap battery giving 1400mah which costs them peanuts, unlike others using 2000+ mah. Charging $100+ to replace the front and back. No SD card slot. iTunes instead of Mp3, WMA etc. Not even a 720P screen, still using 3 years old screen, which hardly cost jack comparing it to 1080P now. The only 2 great things, quality it has, is: Custom made Exynos™ chip, and using the very best Pvrsgx graphics! See how much they have saved, comparing it to a Android device. Well coming from you, we all no your a Apple fanboy®

"Apple just happens to do it much better" really? Rotflmfao, what a pathetic and useless joke.
Well buy not giving consumers the freedom, unlike Linux™ does! Listening to music on an iPod, the sound quality is really cabbage, comparing it listening to it on a SINY Mp3 player with providing the highest nitrate and sampling! Which Apple products have. A true Audiophile listener will never buy Apple products.
Please don't make a fool of your self!

Lol I wouldn't call making it impossible for companies like HTC to profit doing good. It simply is not possible for smaller players to enter the smartphone market anymore because of Apple's bogus lawsuits and patents. Those stupid american jurors have no idea what they have done by awarding 1billion to a bully that thinks they are entitled to take everyone's lunch.

They effectively made taking lunch money from nerds legal in America. Samsung was your last hope.

Now there is no way to correct this unless America drops to 3rd or 4th in the world supowers rankings. That doesn't mean like it'll happen anytime soon unfortunately. Especially since they have Obama fighting battles for them now. Sad.

I would love to have a chance to have a meeting with Tim Cook and tell him so home truths.

These companies are so disconnected.
