Last month we reported that Comcast was in the process of working on streaming of their On-Demand content to their Xfinity app for iPad and Android tablets. Now, iPad owners are the first to have the functionality in the new Xfinity TV app (version 1.1.1). Comcast subscribers with an iPad and the Comcast Xfinity app can now access about 3,000 hours of content from Comcast's on-demand network at no extra charge. That includes movies and TV shows from HBO, Showtime, Starz, Encore, Cinemax and MoviePlex as well as TV shows from TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, and BBC America. Selections include "True Blood," "Dexter" and "Boardwalk Empire," as well as movies like "The Hangover," "An Education," and "The Blind Side," Comcast said.

They actually just came out with the update that's being talked about here, but it is still limited to just on demand content. I work and subscribe to Dish Network and I can tell you that there already is a TV app for the Android phones and it even allows you to stream live TV! The Dish remote app along with the Sling Adapter really places Dish ahead in the industry by being able to offer true TV Everywhere. Check out the videos for yourself!

Comcast started with that little remote control app, did DVR scheduling as well, which was all well and go back then, their app two years ago did more then Directv’s does today. Comcast then added on demand streaming over wifi, so you can access their on demand website from wifi and stream a show, so watch out McDonald’s breakfast with the coworkers. I still prefer my television live, even if it is on my phone, and more then just off wireless, I don’t want to sit in a restraint so everyone can see what I am watching. Why my sling adapter will stream all my shows to my phone over wifi, 3G, or 4G, and all dish customers can qualify for a free sling adapter athttp://bit.ly/kUGI7J Working at DISH Network, I am watching the trends in the industry, and being able to compare all your choices is becoming more important with all the new tech and apps the industry comes out with, and especially to make sure that you get the best price and most the out of your television dollar.
