Cingular takes part in GSMA video sharing trials

The GSM Association (GSMA) announced that it has begun video sharing trials, aimed at ensuring smooth Video Share service across networks and national boundaries as well as widespread launch of the service. The trials initially started in Europe, followed by Asia and subsequently extended to North America with the inclusion of Cingular Wireless. The Video Share service will allow users, participating in a voice call to send each other a live video of the scene or the event they are watching at the particular moment. All major GSM manufacturers, including Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, LG, Sony-Ericsson, NEC, also take part in the trials in order to test as many compatible mobile devices as possible. The GSMA trials are expected to comtinue throughout the year 2006.
