Cingular and Nokia introduce E62

Nokia and Cingular has unveiled the E62 smartphone at the CTIA Wireless IT 2006 event. It is a business handset which is the major US carrier's version of the E61 but with no 3G (UMTS) and Wi-Fi support. The E62 is a quad-band GSM/EDGE device with full QWERTY keyboard and only half an inch in thickness, and features a QVGA 320x240 pixels screen that displays up to 16 million colors. The device has push e-mail support for a great variety of secure email platforms like Cingular Xpress Mail, BlackBerry Connect, Mail for Exchange and Good Mobile Messaging, while there's also a pre-loaded instant messaging application.

The Nokia E62 will be available exclusively from Cingular beginning September 29 at a price of $149.99.
