Chinese regulatory agency TENAA posts a video showing off the Gionee E8/S8 (GN9008)
Chinese regulatory agency TENAA is the country's equivalent to the U.S. FCC. New handsets expected to be used in China must be certified by the agency. Last month, the Gionee E8/S8 passed through TENAA revealing some juicy, mouth watering specs including a 23MP rear camera that reportedly allows you to produce interpolated 100MP photographs. Gionee also has added a rear-facing fingerprint scanner to the back of the unit.

A listing of the model's specs are included in a video taken by TENAA that goes way beyond the agency's usual low-res photographs. According to the video, the handset is equipped with a 6-inch AMOLED screen carrying a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The MediaTek MT6795 SoC is under the hood, containing an octa-core 2GHz CPU. 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage are inside. We've already mentioned the rear camera, so we need to tell you that an 8MP snapper adorns the front of the unit, ready to snap selfies. A 3250mAh battery keeps the lights on, and Android 5.0 is pre-installed with the Amigo 3.0 UI running on top.

The Gionee E8/S8 weighs in at 207 grams and measures 9.6mm thick. We should see Gionee take the wraps off of this device soon.
