They could have avoided all of the misery they are going to be in if they made the tracking optional where the user chose whether to turn it on or off. What arrogance.

How about we shut Carrier IQ down whether or not they're malicious they're more annoying than anything else and so the FCC and the FTC can go investigate more important issues.

Feds want to know: How the hell did you guys let yourselves get caught?! This ruins everything. Now I have to prosecute you.

I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like they are telling your family and friends your biggest secret, and it's not like anyone you know can just call Carrier IQ to access your phone and know exactly what your doing. It seems to me that if your so concerned about this issue, your probably hiding a lot of stuff your not supposed to do. I believe Carrier IQ is simply taking this information to better products tuned to our wants and needs. I have no problem with it.
