Canadian retailer WirelessWave says BlackBerry Z10 demand is real

0. phoneArena 26 Feb 2013, 07:51 posted on

Who to believe? Canadian carrier WirelessWave claims that the BlackBerry Z10 was its most popular model in February and added that its launch day sales of the all-touch BlackBerry was 50% higher than for the launch of any other device in the retailer's Canadian history; on the other hand you have analysts saying that the BlackBerry Z10 is a bust...

I do not like analysis. They seem to be wrong most of the time. So, with that said, I'll believe the retailer.

Let us see the EXHIBIT A... shall we...

BB web view in CANADA according to statcounter.com
gs.statcounter.com/#mobile_os-CA-weekly-201301-201308
Dec 31 2012 - Jan 06 2013 ..... 12.26%
Jan 07 - 13 2013 ..................... 12.57%
Jan 14 - 20 2013 ..................... 12.37%
Jan 21 - 27 2013 ..................... 11.93% (going down before bb10?)
Jan 28 - Feb 03 2013 .............. 11.78% (BB10 launched??)
Feb 04 - 10 2013 ..................... 11.67%
Feb 11 - 17 2013 ..................... 13.59% (increase???)
Feb 18 - 24 2013 ...................... 10.97% (DOWN!!! DOWN!!!)

My guess...
after BB10 launch, some of BB enthusiast went over to other platform because they fell BB10 would not satisfied them, thus it goes down from 12%-ish to 11%-ish after BB10 were introduced.
BB then doing a big push on Feb 11-17, thus the usage percentage of BB went up.... PEOPLE WERE TRYING the BB10 anywhere (store, etc)
After that (Feb 18-24)... the percentage is going down... it's a sign that real BB user were FLEEING the BB platform

Now let's go to exhibit B. BB webview in UNITED KINGDOM
gs.statcounter.com/#mobile_os-GB-weekly-201301-201308
after the introduction of BB10, the WEB VIEW of BB lost 5% from 19%-20% to 14% and never recover.!!!

Conclusion... BB10 were a failure.

The stock has nothing to do with people fleeing to a different platform, it's all about speculation..

Just because you believe BB10 is a failure does not mean it is. Back when I got a BB Tablet as a gift, aside from apple it was 2nd with best operating system(as in stability, multi tasking wise, QNX system all the way), only downfall was lack of apps. Now they do have apps, and I can see blackberry slowly pick up the pace, especially if they keep coming out with high end phones.

Also, if you do research on QNX base platform, you would notice how many car industries are investing in the software for their new high end luxury cars. If BB can play their cards right they can pull it off, and come back as a major player.

That's where you are wrong. People use whatever they are comfortable with. Does not matter where the product is made. Not everyone is techy. We all can't like and use same products. That's how life is. In case you don't like that, understand that others have a right to choose.

The only demand you see and notice is the one that hypes Apple products. Bias is written all over you.

American analyst all trashing up canadian company hoping it fails but guess what I like BBRY strategy whether it is carriers fault or not but releasing this phones were you are still very valuable and with a very strong market share is the right decision.. Before it finally launches here, Mr Heins will surely comeout with the number of Z10 sold and prove to America that the world doesn't revolve around it..(There are so many blackberry haters in the USA I still don't know what blackberry did to them) PS still waiting on the Q10 I want to own the two blackberry models...The Z10 by far has been the most stable device I ever used.. I don't know for some reason the Z10 given out to reviewers on it's launch day is nothing close to the final retail been sold in stores that's why the all complain about software glitches and what not.

The Z10 is the best phone I've ever used. I have one from Canada, and it's absolutely the best UI of any phone. I'm selling my Samsung S3 as soon as Verizon gets the Q10. My S3 is a great phone and it's pristine, but it doesn't have BB10, so it's going. Ebay username 'fatheracid'

Everyone who posts comments saying that the strong sales are false, or that BB10 is going to fail, has not tried the phone. Rest your fat typing fingers, the OS is amazing and the phone is soooooo smooth, it will sell many, many millions no matter how much you lie. You can say it sucks, write it sucks, yell it from your rooftop...the fact of the matter is, it doesn't. It's stunning.
