We’ve know it for long, but finally it is official. RIM announced the BlackBerry Pearl CDMA which although still not confirmed, will be available soon with Verizon and later with Sprint. The CDMA variant of the popular Pearl has similar dimensions and design but improves on the multimedia, adding 3.5mm standard headset jack and video recording capability to the camera. As it is CDMA phone, 3G is supported (thanks to EV-DO) and also is GPS (based on the carrier).

A Verizon teaser site appeared a few days ago, showing the Pearl as one of the following phones for its line.

My Treo 650 is getting long in the tooth so I can't wait for the to come out! I just hope that they fixed the keyboard problems that I've read about.

Why is Sprint always behind Verizon for the release date??? they did the same thing for 8830. Although, I can't wait to get the pearl and get rid of the 2 pound brick (7130e) I have been lugging around for the past year.
