Brokerage firm says to expect voice recognition in iOS 5

0. phoneArena 27 Sep 2011, 13:38 posted on

Piper Jaffray says that Apple's "Let's Talk" invitation to next week's event could be hinting at voice recognition technology to be built into Apple's iOS 5; at the same time, the brokerage firm says that it does not believe that Apple will introduce a low priced, entry level Apple iPhone 4S...

Theres tons of android pieces out there its only natural for a bulk of it to go unnoticed, as to apples name being mentioned, clearly its done by people who like apple, just as people like android. Point Blank its user pref. although i will say android seems much more focused on its buyers than apple is. Apple cares about their bottom line and image, they make a very stable phone i give them that, but this company will fail eventually, all closed minded companies, you must open source if you wanna appeal to the masses.

We it's about time! Siri has a better UI then Voice Actions on Android, but Android wins hands down with the actual recognition of what is being said. Hopefully, Apple has done some updating to help out with that, but this should,t have taken 4 years to add this feature.

Well blackberry still doesn't have it, neither does web os, really only android has a good voice control feature right now. So it's not like everyone has this and it's just Apple.

That's true. And that's just one more reason I feel like Blackberry will not get out of this whole they've put themselves in. The iPhone was presented a major shift in the industry, but RIM responded with a half-baked OS and touchscreen. They should have been talking to TAT much earlier then they did to get a new UI.

So then why does Apple get prosecuted for being "late to the party" when really this feature is not widely available on smartphones.

Apple gets constantly bashed for anything and everything that they're not first in. Guess what Apple can't be first in every feature every time.

Because I wanted it. Have you ever wanted something and it seemed it would never happen. That's how I feel about this. And it will happen again if iOS ever gets widgets, live wallpaper, or free navigation.

Your the first to point out when others copy Apple and their innovations, but when something like this comes to light you try to make it seem like "what??? Apple isn't behind because only Andriod has it" which would prove Apple copys others ideas. Putting them in the same boat as the companies you mock.

and every fandroid does the same thing:

its either "apple is lacking so many features, why dont they offer voice recognition and a status bar?" OR "why is apple getting voice recognition and a status bar? all they do is copy android"

you cant complain that they dont have these features in one post, then complain that they are getting these features in another post.

IDK dude. Siri is really nice, but the lack of turn by turn navigation still sets Android apart.

Having used both the iphone 4 and SGS 2 I believe I have a fair understanding of how the two ecosystems are unique and different.
To begin with I must admit I am a fan of new technology and android devices have always intrigued my tech senses.Having said that I must also say that I love to use iDevices too.
If you ask me to compare the iphone 4 with any of the top end android mobile phones like SGS 2 I will call it a waste of time. Most android phones have way better specs than an iphone any day.In fact I believe any generation iphone has never worked out because of its specs.(Though apple may claim otherwise)
But the reason why apple devices sell so much is because apple as a brand is huge incentive to any person.Having an iDevice sets him off the crowd.(That is what most most apple customers believe) and I dont blame them either. If you look at other iDevices most of you will admit that apple does have "class" products.(Most will differ on iphones)
So I see people arguing over iphone and SGS 2 (in most cases) is a no brainer.
SGS 2 beats iphone in all the domains if its specs that you are interested about. But when it comes to design and the aesthetic appeal of an iphone few people prefer an iphone.
So my friends I guess arguing and declaring that iphone 4 is the best or SGS 2 is the best serves no purpose for both the devices are good for their own reasons.
Their sales figures speak for themselves.

Why all the hate towards Apple, iOS 5 and iPhone?... If Android is so great (which I think it is), and if Samsung smartphones (which I think are awesome) work excellent with it, then why bother talking trash about its competitors?... Live your life, or go out and get one!

Its amazing that a standard feature on just about any android phone becomes the next big thing when it finally makes it to the Iphone?

See as apple has now invented voice recognition and changed everything again this means that anyone speaking from here on is in breach of apple patents and invents.
Vocal cords removal will be issue by court order to all those folk aware enough not to become islaves. Apple will then sell these vocal cords to their drone masses as 'new' vocal cords for them to use
