A 3 minute video of a Chinese person unboxing and powering a blue iPhone 5c is now trending on Weibo, China's Twitter equivalent. The appearance of what is probably a first from many to more videos to come isn't particularly shocking, despite the fact that China has just entered the pre-order phase for the 'budget' Apple phone today – they're manufactured in China, after all.
Our very first impression from the video was the kind of underwhelming packaging the iPhone 5c ships in, especially considering the gains Apple is sure to reap from the switch to a plastic body. That being said, we kind of like the way the iPhone 5c looks, though we're definitely not fans of the backplate, which, again, looks cheap. Of course, don't jump to any conclusions just yet -- you'll hear our final verdict only once we've had the chance to fiddle with the 5c on our own. Looks, after all, can be quite deceiving.
Speaking of fiddling, some of you will be inevitably annoyed by the rather poor viewing experience, but it is what it is, and it provides about as good a look at the iPhone 5c as you can hope for at this stage. Having said that, the video may nevertheless prove helpful for those of you eying Apple's cheaper iPhone.
