Blizzard is giving away free Hearthstone packs, celebrating 70 million players

Hearthstone players have been enjoying the Journey to Un'goro expansion for almost a month now. The newest addition to the hit Blizzard title added a number of new features and cards for CCG enthusiasts to master and collect.

Something else that happened with Journey to Un'goro is that Blizzard broke some of its records. Namely, in the number of players category. According to a post on the company's blog, Hearthstone just hit 70 million players. Of course, this doesn't mean that 70 million players are actively playing the game, but that there are that many registrations since Hearthstone's release.

What's more, after the release of Journey to Un'goro, Hearthstone recorded the most active players in one day. This shows that despite being released more that three years ago, the game keeps growing. And this is no surprise, really, considering the huge esports scene that thrives around the CCG game.

In order to celebrate these two achievements, Blizzard is giving three free Journey to Un'goro packs to everyone. All you have to do, in order to claim your freebies, is log into the game during the month of May. Three packs might not sound as much for most hardcore players, but for casual ones that don't really want to spend money on IAPs, they're a pretty welcome gift.
