0. phoneArena 08 May 2014, 13:48 posted on

I has been well over a month since we last did a blind camera comparison, and the time seems about right for us to put together a new one. Today we've got for you five scenes taken with seven highly-acclaimed smartphones. Vote for the one which you think did the best job!...

This is a discussion for a news. To read the whole news, click here

I like this camera comparison, the setup was nice and comparison mechanism was so much better than previous ones. Waiting eagerly for the results of this one.

Nothing wrong with the dialup, but the article is heavy with lots of MB files due to high res photos

lolol wtf is that. Photographer MUST have done something wrong that's just not right... I have seen so many photos from it and they are great. Even my old Nokia 5mpx would take better shot than that...

Lolzz this is soo not Z2. I have a Z1 and Z1 aside even any 5mp phone can take a better shot than this. So I wouldn't even consider this sample :p

How could someone make Blind Camera Comparison, if don't know the real colors and lights from the life scene???

Of course the blurry or washed out pictures could be seen, but......

Nonsense poll again.

DSLR samples should always be provided in a blind comparision so we can at least know the true colors and make a proper selection...

Please let us individually vote on each scene, it makes it easier, more objective, and clearer which strengths/weaknesses each phone possess based on which scene/brightness/etc it wins/loses.

Its an observation. Because I observed the poor quality photos, that makes me a troll?

What does that make everyone on this website who constantly hates on Sony or Apple or Samsung etc? Trolls?

In case you haven't realized, this is called "PhoneARENA". To compress such comments to the way people think they should be said, makes this site just another pointless news site. This site heavily built on its user base and comment section….

Or did I just hurt your feelings? Im seeing a lot of that lately also. People get mad when people say something they don't like; usually when it involves a company said person would bend over for.

TLDR; Sorry for hurting your feelings, Mr Smurf.

Sometimes your neutral

Sometimes you troll

But end of the day you are a Apple fan

Sometimes we all do that

Papsmurf has some issues with Sony

But no one is perfect

I am bias. I admit it. Everyone is bias. No one is NOT bias. Slander.

I am neutral. I have mixed feelings.

I do troll. Or do people just get so easily mad when their product takes a slam by Sauce?

At the end of the day, I am human, who likes Apple, just like you like your company of choice.

No one is perfect.

P.S. (Apple fans seem to get the most out of people like you lol)

I state facts you deny truth
I like Apple products but hate the company

There are more Android users on the net than Apple users

So no you've not hit the nerve never have never will cause Android has every feature you could think off than Apple iPhone

I haven't seen the terrible oil paintings yet, but I don't take a lot of pictures with my Note 3. Mostly this is because the colors aren't well balanced and the exposure is typically a bit off. It's not a bad camera, but the automatic exposure and JPEG processing are mediocre.

It isn't a bad camera at all.

When I was at a local carnival with him, the shots he took of the lit up ferris wheel at night were really good. But the shots he took of some golden retriever and my friends cats were pretty bad, like ugly oil paintings like I said before.

P.S. The dog and the cats where sitting in place.

They were all pretty close, but 4 and 6 were clearly the best. I ended up going with 6.

Overall the pictures are much better with less variation in lighting and focus from camera to camera in the picture so this is a much better comparison than the last one.

Phone 2 has to be an M8 because of the limited amount of detail, but IMO it holds up pretty well especially considering the lower resolution. If you know how to compose a good picture you shouldn't need to crop much and there is plenty of resolution for a realistic amount of cropping. Exposure isn't the greatest with Pictures 2 and 7 for phone 2 (M8), but you can get much better exposure results if you spot meeting by touching your subject on the screen.

Phone 4 & 6 Looks great. Phone 6 does lags behind in night photography but in daylight tests they look slightly better than Phone 4, as Phone 4 does seems to make the colors a bit warmer.

Usually I'm more torn between a couple of the cameras, but this time #6 appears to be the clear and consistent winner for me.

BTW to PhoneArena, kudos for taking the steps to improve these blind competitions even more by reducing sizes to 3 MP to even the playing field, removing the EXIF data, and taking more consistent shots. Next step on that improvement list: get a new photo viewer. Seriously, it's one of the worst photo viewing experiences I have of any website that I visit, so get on it! Thanks for the blind comparison though!

I think there are some problems with this blind camera comparison
1 no reference picture
2 shrunken pictures loses details so saying for example the iphone/s5 have better pictures than the 1020/z2 or vice versa. Is just useless. With these tests
