BlackBerry users to get free apps to make up for outage

0. phoneArena posted on 20 Oct 2011, 23:16

RIM is offering BlackBerry users who were affected by the recent three day outage, a collection of free apps that together add up to about $100; the apps include SIMS 3, Texas Hold'em Poker 2, Buddy Bash 2 and more; should RIM have done more to appease 'Berry users?...

BB should be giving free apps to all its users for two reasons...

1. To keep customers interested in BB.
2. To bring new customers to BB

The way I see it... BB is falling off everyone's radar fast. It’s no longer an essential business tool. Yes, it still provides the best secure email with BES but many companies are switching to Active Sync where iOS and Android are easily utilized.

I recently got a Blackberry Bold 9930 (My Nexus S 4G got a cracked screen and my warehouse manager let me have his for free) and I love the phone. The only problem is all the apps cost money and the free ones give you 2 seconds before something pops up saying to use this app fully purchase it for $3.99 or something like that.

Nope. Can't wait to get my GSII where I can get almost every app for free.

This is the reason I turned from BB to android, there just not open enough and everything is expensive (even worse than apple) ugh

Please hurry December and send me my new phone.
