BlackBerry has proven itself to be much more than just a handset manufacturing company. As a result, on Monday the company announced the creation of a new unit that will hold some of the company's high growth assets. That would include the QNX embedded software, apps related to cryptography, and its Project ION platform for connecting devices. The BlackBerry Technology Solutions unit will include 44,000 patents and the Paratek antenna company...

They should setup a division to sell the company. This company is in no way going to grow for the long term.

This comment does not make any sense based on the article. What is the basis for your comment?

Apiskula, I mean, "jbishops", why do you think this company won't grow in the long term? Any stats to back up your statement, or are you just trolling? 15% growth, creating new units, recent new hires, as well as recent acquisitions and investments all point to BlackBerry growing. So, what is the basis of your statement?

Give up your trolling APisskula. We all know it's you. Which is why you don't respond when we call you out. But I'll just keep on reporting your trolling and having two accounts until you get permabanned.

@jbishops they did and also shut that committee long time ago. for the second part you should know you are wrong because sadly you are.
Havind made all the right moves at the right time , i dont see any reason blackberry is gonna stop growing.

It should be noted that the man put in charge of this new division was the previous president of Sony-Ericsson.

This is a good move by BlackBerry. John Chen is setting things up to make more value for the company in the long term. BlackBerry has clearly shown that the restructuring phase is over and that they have entered a stage growth. Bravo, BlackBerry!
Naysayers like Apiskula up there masquerading as jbishops because he was was recently banned under the "Apiskula" name should at least attempt to come with something different and original as you are telling who you really are.

Hey MG, welcome back! Good to see your comments again. Hopefully at least wacky stays away

I hope wacky stays away also! I see that Apiskula there just created a new account so he can continue trolling...it never ends, does it?
8. ablopez (Posts: 196; Member since: 15 Apr 2014)
Yeah it appears that way. I will never understand the concept of trolling, or even hating a company so much that one will create a new account after getting banned just to spew the same nonsense.

most people dont know the underlying value that Blackberry posseses , they only compare it with the handset and OS market share, they dont know QNX and the values it has created in the industry.
So its a nice move by Mr Chen to highlight other things that blackberry expertises except handsets and OS.
Wall street analysts also like this move.
I am attracted to getting more BB shares.
