RIM has been having a pretty bad year, and it looks like it's about to get even worse. Until now, BlackBerry has been enjoying an exclusive run as the only smartphone allowed for government use in the UK, but that may be about to change...

Unfortunately they (RIM) have not kept up with the times. Resting on ones laurels can be deadly at times.

not really just android. more like Wp8, IOS and android instead. more better choices. well Wp8 is more for the FBI and enterprise level which is obvious. IOS and android for enterprise level

best options
IOS
Android
Wp8

I'm not bias of any platform at all. so don't mistake me as a troll please ;-)

Being in steady decline and losing market share has nothing to do with security features required by governments. I'd like to see more on how other platforms have raised their security features, or as is suggested here, that the UK govt has lowered bar.

i dont really need why they will change? coz of ecosystem? for goodness sake.... they are government officials they dont need to play angry birds while on work!!! they need the best security has to offer and BB never failed that!!!

BB will be the best in terms of security while dealing government business...

they can have iPhone, android or Windows Phones as there personal use but as business phone, BB FTW!!!

i dont really get why they need to change phone just for business? why because BB is out iPhone/android/WP is in?! STUPID!!!! YOU ARE DOING GOVERNMENT BUSINESS NOT PLAYING AROUND WITH ANGRY BIRDS, TEMPLE RUN AND TAKING PHOTOS AND SHARE IT TO THE WORLD WITH INSTAGRAM!!!
