I've seen Chinese KIRF phones that look better this unit. Hopefully the production unit doesn't look so cheap.

I've played around with this phone and it's a very good phone! The body is very sturdy and it feels like a quality handset. The touch screen feels very good and high-end. The OS seems quite stable too!

It's definitely the best of the new Blackberries devices and is a suitable alternative to people who are used to high-end touchscreen devices.

All that being said, I seriously doubt whether it's worth $1500!! For that price there are tons of alternative devices on other platforms that are better supported and have a wider variety and better quality of apps!

doesn't every pre-released high end phone that goes on some form of a bidding site where the price is outrageously high?

I don't know why people's jaws are dropping over this kind of stuff. Remember when the BlackBerry "Javelin" (aka Curve 8900) pre-production unit that sold for $17,000.00 on eBay...that was just a couple years ago.

In a way, it shows how the mighty have fallen a bit. This handset definitely has my interest though.
