I was thinking of trying this phone but the focus did the job for me. Then again the iphone 4 was a great phone for me as well. Didn't really dig the captivate to much though.

So BB owners voted the BB number one. Wow. As someone who has had the 3GS, then droid X, now iph 4. The iphone wins easily!

Was this poll taken after or before the price reduction?

I cannot believe what I am reading...The Torch? I've seen far too many of those things come back just because the keyboard stops responding. I've actually been in the middle of activating a few of them and the keyboard stops working...

lmao, this proves that cutting edge tech isn't necessarily the best when it comes to mass market appeal. I finally get to show my CrackBerry head fanboyness. Seriously though, even I was surprised at this. Makes you wonder, what if they had put a 1GHz processor in...

I've only known a BB curve, so why not upgrade to the better BB Torch. Got a promo from my service provider to boot. I don't need all the bells and whistles of the iphone4. A bigger touch screen, and improved browser, and a few apps. Merry Christmas to me!

I smell a fix here

Rim's investors were not satisfied with the product, the lack of innovation and damaged future for hardware and OS. Users have not flooded doors for this product and public response has been mediocre if not trivial..... but it is awarded phone of the year?! Nothing ground breaking in design.. features are minimal... if you aren't going to rate against Samsung, HTC, Motorola and apple.... then yes, I suppose the Torch might be a decent phone.

This is one of the finniest jokes I've read :)

Iam really surprised with the result... It can not believe the best smartphone was BB torch. With only 600 Mhz procie, TFT display, no video call, no multitouch, no accelerometer. Feature of Torch is as the same BB onyx 2, the different is only touchscreen.. Where is Galaxy S?? why Iphone can leave behind??? no reasonable...

Finally the result is not valid when almost of the voter is BB user...

i bet this is related with the amount of units sold maybe it was so little that give no chance for bad phones to pop out... or the promotion was so little and the expectations where so low that those who bought it found it more "amazing" to say something.... or the list is backwards... just saying...

BB will always Rule, it may not have the best processor, apps or whatever, but it has enough to stay around, and attract the right market. How many articles have you seen on here talking bout a BB been having reception problems, or the stupid problems that the iphone or droid may come across. Only thing bout BB is that they do freeze up from time to time but what phone doesnt
