BlackBerry Torch 9810 getting discontinued at home, are newer models nearing?

Now, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, when a smartphone gets discontinued, that is usually because room needs to be made for new arrivals. Those who are still loyal to the brand are hoping to see the first BlackBerry 10 smartphones before the year is out. Could they be ready for prime time? Probably not yet, we suppose. If rumors are to be believed, a new BlackBerry L series is to be introduced in September of this year, which is still months away from today. Yet things at team BlackBerry have been quiet for quite a while, and it is about time for it to finally announce something fresh and new.
In the meantime, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is still available from U.S. carriers, although it won't be surprising if it follows the fate of its Canadian brother.

You know, sometimes 'me' thinks that PhoneArena writes articles just to encite riots, discord and hostility. And, then complains when decent and docile readers, like 'me', react with the darndest sugar-coated saintly posts.
We all know that R.I.M. has failed and, unfortunately, will continue to do so mainly because, mildly put, at the head of all these mobile tech failures, there's always an out-of-touch middle-aged hairline-receding thinly-challenged man at the helm who knows absolutely nothing about market demand.
But, iDigress, whatever R.I.M. does now is too little, too late.

Tellus is probably cutting their RIM handset exposure. If the 9810 isn't selling, why not make room for a handset that is more popular?

I believe this makes the slider Qwerty platform dead now.. with the other BB phones and the DVP gone..
Am I the only one that likes the Portrait slider QWERTY form factor..? I know I can't be the only one..

As a former BB owner, and one who enjoyed them, every once in a while something comes along that just really bums me out. This is one. The portrait slider is my favorite form factor, is about dead, and RIM is just making bad decision after bad decision. Here is the Torch, a device I really was interested in, a dismal fail. Makes me sad.
