FINALLY, they got rid of that STUPID trackball thing. Its about damn time, that was gettin old....

13. (unregistered) posted on 08 Jun 2008, 19:13

it will certainly get interesting soon. I have a Pearl on VZW and an iPhone. This week is when I decide what my path will be. I find pros and cons with both however media is amazing on the iPhone.

20. (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 00:47

How's ATT's service vs. Verizon? I like the Iphone and all but that means alot. I've had VZW forever and never problems. WOuldn't want to switch just for a phone ya know...

52. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 00:14

yea, i agree with #33. I have had AT&T, cingular, sprint, and verizon, and Verizon is by far the best (call quality and connectivity). wouldnt you want to have a service you can actually use... apose to the crappy service from the others where you cant even get service?

23. IamTheGodfather (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 09:33

The competition is crying right now, anyone who works in the cell industry knows how powerful the blackberry name is by itself....to be an exclusive touchscreen blackberry is making steve jobs cry in his milk right now.

24. (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 09:43

about time blackberry came out with a touch. i have been a big fan of blackberrys but never had one lol. well i am due for an upgrade in september and the thunder will be coming out around the same time....so it looks like i will be purchursing one for sure :)

31. (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 14:52

Don't get me wrong, I really love what VZW and RIM is doing here. This will probably be the biggest seller for them this year ( the Dare is a close second ). But Google's Android is really something to behold. I'm just imagining it on some of VZW's handsets. How great would killer "open access" software be on America's most reliable network? Think about it.

32. tim_from_at&t (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 17:15

wow, i never realized just how DUMB some of these verizon morons, really are . I mean its i applud the move of buying out alltel, but some of the stuff i am reading is just a joke. Do you morons forget that with AT&T being a gsm carrier, and Vodafone, also being a gsm carrier that if a AT&T customer wanted to they could buy the exact same blackberry that all of you are raving about and use it and not sign a contract?....wow....

33. (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 17:32

i believe what the comments are really pertaining to tim is that the high speed network for verizon is more readily available than at&t's network in the US. meaning it's more appealing to the person that travels to big and smalls cities, goes on vacation , etc.....yes, the blackberry is gsm/cdma capable . so it looks like "if " the exclusive tag is dropped from it...then anyone could purchase the device. but if it's not.....then only verizon customers will have ability to use the touchscreen blackberry

34. Anomalies posted on 09 Jun 2008, 19:26

Dear Tim, did you realize that VerizonWireless and Vodaphone are brother/sister companies? Do your research before trying to post some glorified statement.

36. (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 23:19

The Blackberry 8830 is a Verizon/Vodaphone device that works on both networks... so why not unlock and activate that on AT&T.... oh... you can't... IT'S NOT QUADBAND GSM. Do you think Blackberry wont do the same with this phone? Verizon and Vodaphone will have the same phone, both CDMA/GSM Thunders.

53. (unregistered) posted on 13 Jun 2008, 00:17

hahaha #46, you are stupid. there is a reason why Verizon has the most customers... and AT&T doesnt. Y would you want a phone that cant even get service (AT&T) when you can get one that basically always has service exept places like the Burmuda Triangle (VZW).

54. (unregistered) posted on 14 Jun 2008, 18:36

tim from att. are you completely stupid? how are you going to activate a CDMA exclusive Verizon phone on ATT? Vodafone... largest in the world. Verizon.. Largest in the US. I think that all speaks for itself since Vodafone owns almost half of Verizon. Your opinion doesnt make sense and doesnt matter. How are your health benifits and $9/hour treating you at ATT? I would know. I USED to work for that awfull company. Please do not post again. Your an undereducated ATT rep with no morals and you dont care about your customers.

coming late to this thread but that was an epic att pwn. dare is selling tons right now and unlike att we can actually do math right and keep our inventory at the correct levels. when the thunder comes out it will be the best phone in the U.S. bar none

35. Nunya (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 21:41

you people are idots...there's no debate here, any phone, no matter how great will completely suck w/ vzw b/c they will lock it down!! So you could be using a laptop as a cell phone on verizon & in actuality it will be like using a motorola startac!!!

37. (unregistered) posted on 09 Jun 2008, 23:22

you are an idiot for that analogy

38. vzw/att user (unregistered) posted on 10 Jun 2008, 00:04

Some people are idiots.... If you take the time and search the internet, I'm sure you can find hacks, tricks, and tips on how to unlock certain features that are locked down by specific carriers. Remember, the reason for the carrier not unlocking all the features of a phone is to 1: save the carrier money, 2: most people won't use their phone to its full potential. 3: some of us just want to have all the features for bragging rights. 4: So what’s the big deal…? Hack the phone like most of us will do.

39. (unregistered) posted on 10 Jun 2008, 00:09

wow, y'all r wack! first of all, this is a PHOTOSHOP!!! and not what it will actually look like. second, verizon is truely the best carrier because i have had AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, and where i live, Verizon is THE BEST!!! although i must admit that their "menu" screen is slightly wack... but besides that, what is the point of a phone if you cant even use it to call/txt/email with it? third, this will probably be the best phone for verizon fo sho. y'all who think this phone is going to suck, just think of one word... BLACKBERRY... that is all that is needed to be said. (and if you are an idiot who knows nothing about cell phones/smart phones, BlackBerry is a POWERHOUSE when it comes to smart phones. BlackBerry is like the Rolls Royce of cars or the Rolex of watches) one mo thing... i have to give props to da iphone, and this will probably be the closest competitor because the iPhone 3G's new updates arent much. the only thing the new iPhone 3D improved on was integrating GPS and more games/apps. and all that stuff. in conclusion, these two phones will be REALLY close competitors, and i look forward to seeing how all this turns out.

43. (unregistered) posted on 10 Jun 2008, 01:08

do you think this will have wifi or do you think i should stick with my htc mogual

44. Steve Jobs (unregistered) posted on 10 Jun 2008, 10:01

yes..the Iphone does suck..All we added on the new one is the 3g..which is not even fully functional unlike *coughs* Verizon Wireless...and GPS...its still the same...and you knuckleheads will still purchase it anyways...so thanks in advance for my new million dollar home that I will purchase with your moneyeee...muwahahahah...
