Hopefully RIM redeems themselves. They hyped the Storm so much and made it sound like the actual iPhone killer, but MAN was it an epic fail.

Considering all of you are posting about it, it defenealty left an impression...BUT I agree, the FIRST* impression wasnt "EPIC". It had a horrible first impression due to software flaws, but even 60-70% of people (who I talk to (which I work for Verizon so thats a lot)) "retract" ever saying anything bad about it, and have agreed the new software was a success. Stores even reported that had the software not been delayed so long to create such remorse about the device, that it would have done A LOT better in permanant sales. Realistacaly the device didnt do that bad. And with th iphone creating such a negative public response against the only device worthy of comparrison it just wasnt ready for public scrutiny...Also not to mention Verizon could have pushed the release but its websites like these that make consumers extremely impatient for device releases, so impatient that you hear people bashing verizon because they "TAKE SO LONG FOR PHONES" (like the BB Curve you all complained about took so long but was the best curve on the market, and still is...)

i agree with Bawt that it was a catastrophic nightmare shortly after release. BUT i also agree with vz fanman.....its not now bcuz of dozens of software updates.....

Isn't Storm 2 coming to the U.S. on At&t as well as Verizon?

Yes it is. If you click on the 9520 version on the top of this page it is a GSM version. This GSM version has 3G, and I believe has already passed through FCC. There is a good possiblity that the storm2 will come to AT&T or maybe Rogers.

VZW has exclusive contract with the storm and any versions in the US. Much like AT&T has with IPhone currently. The GSM version is the one Vodafone and Rodgers uses. Sorry...... Although, VZW did say exclusive contracts will eventually be shorter for them.
