Wow you are a dumb a**. Do your research before you get on here and start posting out of your a**. Did you bother thinking about the XV6800 we have currently out and the XV6850 that is coming out. Both happen to be mentioned in the article above.

Pity. This isn't VZW's weakness. RIM simply didn't put WiFi on this device, but go ahead and ignore the overwhelming evidence that it is not necessary at all when you have VZW's superb 3G coverage.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I couldn't give a darn about wifi. That doesn't make or break a phone for me. For me, the main thing is battery life! The ability to record/play back video, camera photo editing options and flash, internet access are important to me as well. Speed, kinda sorta. Just as long as I can get on. I've been with T-Mobile for a few years now n' one of the things that burns me up about them is gettin' on the web...when I CAN get on the web. I'm so used to getting error messages now due to poor signal strength, I don't know what to do. Oh yes I do! Happily drop kick the pink-T as soon as The Storm comes out! The Storm will be my first BlackBerry. Everybody I know who owns one tells me nothing but great things about BB battery life. I'm hearin' the same about the Storm.

the xv 6800 has wifi and the i760 has wifi, get ur facts straight

I agree, partly. If you've read up on 4g, you will see that 50mb/s over cell is going to happen. Sadly, probably, before the large expanse of access points becomes a reality

shmuk u dnt need a data plan on tmobile if they tell u that give them a diff imei and jus pop ur sim into ur bberry with verizon thats impossible because it works on a faster and more reliable cdma network

115: Don't you know that the manufacturer makes what the carrier wants them to? I am so sick of hearing that we should complain to the manufacturer if the phone doesn't have what we want. It's up to the carrier. This is why the new HTC phones have one set of specs for Sprint and a different spec list for VZW. Did you really think that HTC just decided to leave stuff off of the Verizon models for shits and giggles? I personally don't need Wifi on my device, but people here should respect the fact that some people want it. How is it helpful to label them poor or stupid? (not singling 115 out on this part) Do you really think you are going to change someone's point of view by calling them names?

119. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 10:35

why are ppl so obssesed with WIFI. Wouldnt you rather not have the internet whenever and not when you are at a WIFI hotspot.. your an idiot if you are that hard off of WIFI. so go sit in starbucks an to use your internet when i can use mine anywhere. also how do you even figure verizon is about to bust, they are first place in 19 our of 20 markets in consumer reports after the Alltell buy out

120. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 10:36

good thing that the new storm is going to be REV A though which is faster then 3g

121. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 10:37

great so you will get internet faster in 10% of the places that you have it.. sounds extrememly convienant to me.. you must not have been able to get approved with Verizon so you have to go to T mobile

128. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 14:53

actuallt ATT is #1 VZW is #2

Everyone who argues about cell phones are IDIOTS!! Dumb Geeks! Listen to yourselves whining. Watch some football and go outside and breathe the fresh autumn air. By the way Rev A is the type of 3g. Example. 3G is the Make like Chevrolet and Rev A is the Model like a corvette. Silly Rabbit.

130. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 15:52

Wow you probably use it dummy and why not save $20 a month thats $240 a year and $480 in two years so if you are saying lol because they are smart and saving or maybe you are just retarded and laugh out loud all the time

132. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 17:58

yeah I had a phone with wifi...... and then my mom got a job!

133. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 23:07

to number 99 i'm in college and am making something of myself. there we have FREE(key word free) WiFi.

134. (unregistered) posted on 29 Oct 2008, 23:58

well we're very glad that you're making something out of yourself...because you probably have no other talent... it's also very good for you that you get "FREE" WIFI which not many of us are in your shoes being able to just stay in your dorm and scratch your junk with one hand and play with your phone with the other. we wouldn't be having this "discussion" in the first place if there's FREE WIFI EVERYWHERE...unfortunately, unless you're a trillionaire, we don't. We shouldn't be having this discussion about WIFI or no WIFI anyway. This discussion is about the "VERIZON RIM STORM 9530", that's why there's a big f*$kin' picture of the Storm on top. So those that are saying "...oh you can't save $20-$30 a month, $240-$360 a year" put your damn foot, as matter of fact, put your damn FEET in your mouth, unfortunately while you have a PDA/Smartphone with Verizon, data plan is required so in this case, WIFI or no WIFI does not make a difference WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FEW PLACES WHERE YOU DON'T GET GOOD NETWORK RECEPTION. Thus, giving Verizon policy, because all PDA/Smartphones require data plan, not having WIFI seems like the better decision since that helps lower the price of the phone itself. As one of the fellow writer on this discussion, even if you have WIFI, with bunch of people sharing one network, things are bound to be slow and it can only download and work as fast as your phone allows it. Get over people, there will never be a perfect phone because everyone's needs are different, just admit that Storm is a pretty awesome phone, and i'm pretty sure once Storm's out, 3, 4, 5, 6 months down the road a better phone will come out, that is life...you people are still buying it aren't ya'll? GEEZ

138. (unregistered) posted on 31 Oct 2008, 23:17

correction: the comment was stated vzw will be number 1 after the buy out of alltel vzw was number one b4 at&t bought out cingular

145. (unregistered) posted on 06 Nov 2008, 11:29

Wi-Fi is inconsequential on these phones. You DO notice a speed increase when you are connected while using the iphone/other blackberry's/WM phones but the processors on all these phones aren't capable of rendering web pages as fast as a full-blown computer. So, my conclusion is that you may as well use the EVDO unless you're somewhere a 3G network doesn't exist. THAT would a reason to have Wi-Fi.

150. (unregistered) posted on 08 Nov 2008, 10:45

rev. a is not faster then 3g, it IS 3g. it is revision A of 3g, but still 3g.

151. (unregistered) posted on 08 Nov 2008, 13:05

actually vzw does have some phones that have wifi look into it before jumping to some sort of conclusion.
