BlackBerry Storm 9530 owners in the U.S. have had to get by somehow, without being able to access Big Red's proprietary V CAST video service. That is, until now. Starting today, the Storm 9530 can download an application that will allow the owner to subscribe to the service for $10 per month. For that price, you will receive a combination of television highlights, some full-length shows, and NHL hockey clips among other videos. Many Verizon featurephone owners can vouch for how useful the V CAST videos can be when you have a lot of time to kill. Big Red continues to keep improving the Storm enough to make it relevant in the U.S. smartphone wars, something that will help the carrier get the Storm 2 9550 off to a better start than the 9530 had.

Already got on my Storm and so far so good. Love the full screen playback and the video quality! Best part of it all is i get it for FREE!! :) Now back to Stewie from Family Guy!!

its called being an agent for Verizon and getting all features 100% off! love it! Got tethering,V-Cast videos, Data package, VZ Navigator, Visual Voice mail all FREE!!!

As much as the data plan is for BB, the app for vcast should be a one time purchase or free. Vzw app store is such a fail, no one likes paying subscription fees for their apps. I don't understand why I can pay $15 for the Vpak and get unlimited web and vcast videos, but I have to pay more for a smartphone data plan and pay more if I want Vcast videos, it's ridiculous.

ummmm, 90 if not 95% of the GIM apps can be bought outright, they offer the subscription if you want to pay less or just use it for like a month. you fail. You pay more for the V-cast service on top of your data plan cuz alot of people like me never use it. the SMARTPHONE data plan is more because its a SMARTPHONE, and you have accest to the vast majority of stuff on the net, you dont on your phone.
