BB should allow current storm owners to automatically get the new storm if it did come out. it is only fair

So by your logic, if I bought a Corvette last year, when Chevy releases the 2010 I should get one for free? You are a moron. Technology is the worst thing to buy, becuase the second you buy it you are outdated by something new. Did apple let all the consumers who purcahsed Tiger 1 year before Leopard upgrade for free, no. Is windows going to let people who buy Vista computers right now upgrade to Windows 7 for free, NO... If every goods based business let everyone automatically upgrade to the next best thing for free they would never make any money. I just bought the Touch Vogue XV6900 from VZW last May, 5/22 to be exact, and the new touch diamond xv6950 is coming out in two weeks, do you see me whining like a little baby, no. I made a good purchase. Am I going to buy the diamond xv6950? Probably not, because HTC is already working on the Touch Diamond 2. Am I going to go to VZW and cry like you and say it isn't fair that I bought a phone, USED ITS SERVICES FOR NEARLY A YEAR, PAID 399.99 for it, and now I want the new one for free..... People like you make me sick.

While mmmsteak4 has a funny name, it wouldn't be fair to get the Storm 2 for free. BB STORM 2 FTW!!

...so they can subsidize the price of the phone so you can purchase it for much cheaper than its FULL RETAIL COST

No, that'd be what a contract is for. You don't have to have a data plan to NOT pay retail price for any non-smartphones. I know almost all carriers require data for smartphones, but don't think that's so you can get a subsidy cause that's BS.

wow a "storm 2"? i didnt hear of it until now and hopefully blackberry learns from all the bugs the original one had and improve on it. wifi would be a plus for some folks that may need that feature.

If RIM/VZW is going to forget their loyal customers and go months without device software upgrades when major issues remain like "Storm1," I will be looking to try a phone with better backing. RIM has been built on business use and business people can't afford to wait on fixes like an accelerometer stuck in horizontal. I struggled deciding between Storm and Omnia. VZW sales told me Samsung is excellent at fixing problems. But, RIM had half their company at VZW supporting the launch. Where are they now...4 months after the last upgrade? Coming soon is not a good answer any longer.

I know i'm suprise to not see Godfather stay that the BB Storm and VZW are the greatest things on earth and everything else is inferior

No Joke... maybe he's just mad because he said the Storm didn't need WiFi... well, here it comes...

As am I, but I guess BB is 'kind of' sticking to thi criteria: xx00 = base xx10 = GPS xx20 = Wi-Fi xx30 = CDMA (or hybrid) I don't understand why they didn't do that with the new Curve or Bold. I know that the 8900/9000 have most of = the features in one, but come on BB; stick to something.
