they went for the bold?? are you serious? can you please atleast partialy mask your love of apple and dislike of VZW? i havent heard a single person in my store ever say "well the storm sux, so im leaving VZW and going and getting the $400 bold!!" A) most customers love the storm, regardless of your review (and yes most of them are not the hardcore BB users we all know and love, but they are customers non the less) B) if they do not like the storm, they go for the CURVE. ALMOST NOONE leaves VZW to get an AT&T Bold at nearly double the price. Its just a black curve.. not that interesting. i have heard internal estimates around as high as 750k for the first weekend, who knows how high it really is. The Storm good for EVERYONE in the industry, just like that silly Iphone has been good for EVERYONE, bringing customers far and wide.

wow.... "and what about the old ones? Well, they’ve obviously gone for the Bold" just...wow.... how much does AT&T pay to maintain this site? payting all these employees must be why they have to lay off so many from the landline division "

I think we all are wondering how much more this site can blatantly bash one company and still have the audacity to say they are neutral in some form or fashion. You can make me register to post here, thats fine.....but if that was done to prevent the flaming and spam, it should also encourage you people who make this stuff start reading what we ALL are saying. The side comments and constant stabs at VZW and their handsets and subscribers is insulting and reprehensible. There should be an apology publicly issued on this site for the constant hate and distain displayed by these so called neutral cell phone critics. Because I see a new article 4 times a week about anything remotely related to Apple or an I Phone, some " new and revolutionary " app that is not new or revolutionary. Please do us a favor and get back on track. I like this site, it USE to be informative and objective, but now it is dreadfully partial and does no justice for those interested in learning about new and exciting things.

So if JD Power told you that 75% of Storm users were new to BBs and that the veteran users when with the Bold would you then believe it? If there is a story promoting anything VZW you guys are all over it like flies on poop...if its negative in the slightest way then they are "bashing" VZW? Give me a break if you don't like then please feel free to not vist this site...free country with freedom of speech.

18. The Godfather (unregistered) posted on 19 Dec 2008, 16:13

wow you actually made my argument even easier, no one is jumping on the FACTS this site relays, we are jumping on the BIAS OPINIONS they offer all the time. Try to stay in your league, your obviously either just trying to argue for the sake of doing so or just ignorant to what is sitting in front of your face on a weekly basis.

3. jskrenes posted on 19 Dec 2008, 10:54

Probably some statistic that ATT provided that says that all of their current BB subscribers are going for the Bold. I doubt that there are a ton of VZW curve users are switching carriers to get the Bold.

4. Mayday3420 posted on 19 Dec 2008, 11:13

Yea, because no current blackberry owner would keep their current blackberries. That's just crazy talk. Or there aren't about 10 other blackberries for those people to chooose from. I wonder if a prereq for working here is loving all that is att and iphone.

5. SellPhones82 posted on 19 Dec 2008, 12:49

I hope the post above are from females becasue you all sound like a bunch of little girls. If you can't take this artical this one should really get your panties in bunch...http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/12/18/verizon-blackberry-storm-return-rate/ Please notice the comments from real customers....not VZW employees that cry any time there is an artical that speaks the truth. Also if this site love AT&T and Apple sooo much like you claim then how or why did they pick the Instinct over the iPhone, Dare, and VU?? Quit making excuses....the Storm is a good phone but compaired to other BBs it is a failure!!! Read any comments form a real BB user (not some teen that just traded his Dave for the Storm) and you will see. It the Storm is your first BB then you really do not know what your are missing. If you are coming from a dumbphone then of course you will like the Storm since it does more than your previous phone. Lag (compaired to other BBs) and the "Click Screen" are the two major complains from avid BB users and ever though it might be hard for you to believe most state that they are going to the Bold. Something tells me the Storm 2 will loss the "Click Screen".

I respect your opinion, but thats all it is. Your comments are completely opinionated, and from my experience in the field since launch, a majority of our customers stated they knew that there would be issues when the device launched and that they are ok with that ( seem to be forgetting all the issues the i phone had when it laucnhed....I seem to recall something about not being able to activate it and some of those issues are still persent with dropped calls and browser crashes ). The I phone is soooo far from perfect it is almost funny. Yeah it is a great device and no one is denying that if they know anything about cell phones, but it is hampered by limitations as well. The battery issue is my #1 complaint, no cell phone that subs as a media device should be locked down to just one battery. It shouldnt be a big procedure, and it should be mandatory in every cell phone. I have had more customers switch from the I Phone to the Storm simply for something that petty. Lag??? you are 2 patches behind buddy, and the click screen is very simple to pick up on....takes no more time than getting use to the not so user friendly i phone keyboard ... Click gives accuracy and it works great. The newest patch is out already , thats 3 in less than a month. Can apple even pretend to show support for their devices that quickly?

8. SellPhones82 posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:00

Not sure what all the stuff about the iPhone is about...to me the iPhone and Storm are in the same boat....far from perfect and both have their pros and cons. I would take the Storm over the iPhone (for the same reasons you mentioned) but that is not what my post was about. It was geared towards the cry babies. Three firmware updates in a month is great but the fact that they had to release three updates in less than a month says something. Has any other BB ever needed 3 updates in a month to fix probelms that should have been caught in Beta testing? My opinion is the same you will read all over crackberry. Just try and count all the post the read "just recevied my REPLACEMENT storm" or "On my 3rd Storm" If the screen "works great" why are so many using the "Business Card Trick" under the battery door to make typing easier? Why do I read "Going back to my Curve" time and time again?

9. Fanboys Suck posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:22

I'll be honest and just put my 2 cents in for the heck of it. "SellPhones82" said nothing about the iPhone being better or beating the Storm. (both have their pros and cons, especially relative to each consumer and their needs) I will admit this site does tend to lean towards Apple, in my opinion, in so small degree, However, you are blasting the iPhone without warrant. This article is about blackberries, and like all article on this site, it turns into an iPhone bashing/promoting forum. I don't care for the iPhone, so I am not defending it. I am a Blackberry fan. I think the article that "SellPhones82" posted is actually very relevant. I read a lot of posts from consumers. Some of them loved the Storm and some of them didn't. As I do feel the piece of the above article which states, "Well, they’ve obviously gone for the Bold" is absolutely irresponsible, on the boy genius report I red quite a few consumer comments about going out and buying the Bold. There is some (yes, some) truth to this phonearena article. I do think that a lot of the returns on the Storm took place within the first couple weeks of the release of the phone due to the fact that the phone desperately needed updates. I have played with the storm and I personally really like it except for the fact that the one in the VZW store had a lot of lag. I suppose that one is not totally up to date.

10. vzw fanman posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:33

people didnt give the storm enough of a chance, i hate the people who return it after one day, thats gay..haha lol, your name is fanboys suck but you just said your a blakcberry fan! haha lol, rock hard for VZW!!

14. SellPhones82 posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:54

I agree people should be patient as most problems will be/have been fixed but you must remember this is a BB and your typical BB endusers uses their phone for business. They do not have time to wait for things to be fixed if it effects their ablility to get work done. If it does not work they will switch to something that does. Also there is a huge differnce in FANBOY and fan. A fanboy will never admit when something the company they follow does something wrong. A fan will admit faults and stays away form the kool-aid. Fanboys Suck would be a fan....I think you may fall under the other.

17. Kiltlifter posted on 19 Dec 2008, 15:30

The main reason the store phones lag is because every single app has been opened on them and people hit the end key to go back to the main screen without closing the app. As much as people like to hate on WinMo, RIM's platform has programs run in the background too. The best way to terminate all running programs on a blackberry is to remove the battery, but the store demos will not let you do that. So, you would have to open ever app, then hit the back arrow to make sure you are actually closing it. And for all you blackberry suers, the SHIFT (up arrow) then the back key is not a device manager, that is just a app history log, and doesn't do anything except clear the history of your most recent apps. Closing those clears next to no free ram on the device.

both of you have valid points and I am usually very careful in how I post a message, I dont want to be misconstrued with what i state. I dont miss the obvious complaints that have been here and there, but to be honest, I live on crackberry and the majority of these complaint threads are from people who are just there to bash it and dont even have VZW ( i suspect they never had a Storm either from a lot of the complaints because most of the time touch settings being adjusted or some other simple fixes solve the gripes ). For the most part, I am in the field with large business clients and consumers, and I have seen some returned, but most people keep them. Crackberry seems to have a lot more threads about the things you can do or questions on how to perform certain functions of the device , and tips and tricks and such. I would be the first one to jump all over RIM if this device came out with flaws and we were still waiting on a official statement from RIM on the fixes they are working on, but they have been quick about admiting the problems and taking action to correct it, and I can not be angry for that. It was VZW who had to have this device on a specific date due to the marketing investment they made with commericals and advertisements . If RIM had it their way, the Storm would have launched this week.

It's not so much crying, it's just the fact this site seems to bash vzw and the phones phones a lot including other companies minus att. They get bashed ummm, maybe 1/10 of the and it's not because they're the greatest company in the world. It's just the bias that drives people crazy.

21. Fanboys Suck posted on 19 Dec 2008, 18:51

Forgive me for now catching your earlier conversation with SellPhones82 towards the top. 6,16 and 18. I for some reason did not read that or missed it earlier, but I'll agree with you that there is a ton bias on the site and not enough admission of facts. I thought I would say that and now I understand the rant on your 7 post. Come to think of it, I find it humorous. Anyway, I appreciate your input and fact-based arguments much more that anyone just spouting off opinions with no foundation.

11. Jyakotu posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:44

*sigh* I guess whenever a site wants to say something "bad" about VZW, all the fanboys want to come and defend it. Seriously, the Storm is not only targeting the business consumer, but the casual consumer, like the iPhone. So, it would make sense that business Blackberry users would choose the Bold over the Storm. Think because you make comments.

12. renegade626 posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:46

Yea I wanna see how many storms have been returned though compared to how many theyve sold. Ive seen like a 2/3 turnover on these things because people are either getting a fad and figure out that they dont need it nor want to learn how use it, or theyre experiencing tons of software issues (even with the newest update). I think ill stick to my curve, best phone ive ever owned.

13. Fanboys Suck posted on 19 Dec 2008, 14:47

#10 Maybe I should clarify and change my name to "Annoying fanboys who post stupid crap all day long that is totally irrelevant suck"... I think that would do... haha! I do agree, if you buy a phone, give it a bit of time to learn it.
