BlackBerry PlayBook gets update that takes the app out of BlackBerry App World
Share:
The BlackBerry PlayBook tablet has been the forgotten device as BlackBerry continues to launch the all-touch BlackBerry Z10 globally, to be followed with the physical QWERTY equipped BlackBerry Q10. But all of that attention placed on the handsets didn't stop the Canadian manufacturer from pushing out an update for the tablet.
Software version 2.1.0.1526 brings a re-branding of BlackBerry App World to BlackBerry World, allows for SMS chat through BlackBerry Bridge, and also adds improvement to the browser while boosting the volume on the slate. It also adds support for in-app payments, which should make developers happy. For those who care about such matters, the update is 132MB.

I wouldn't be surprised if apple was behind the 'app' removal.
