BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 launches Wednesday
According to information received by Crackberry, RIM is expected to launch the BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 on Wednesday. The application sends IM messages back and forth among BlackBerry devices. Some of the new features include an enhanced SMS in a conversational, threaded format. This part of the app is available only to those using a device with BlackBerry OS 5.0. A picture from the BlackBerry gallery can be choosen to be your avatar which will be seen by your contacts. Furthermore, your contacts will be seen with their avatars which you can zoom in on. Also, if you have a 'Berry running 5.0 OS, you will be able to download/send large files of up to 6MB of pictures, files or video. Among the remaining features is support for the Bar-Code Identity reader. Using your device's camera, you convert a bar code into a new contact for your phone. Contacts are backed-up on a server so Desktop Manager is not needed. Once your BlackBerry is upgraded to the new Messenger 5.0. let us know what you think!

i had the leaked BBM5 for 4.7 OS on my Storm and loved it as that was initially one of the main reason i didnt wanna load the leaked OS 5.0! Been checking all morning for BBM5 for my 5.0.0.230 OS but havent found anything yet.
