BlackBerry DTEK60 now available for pre-orders in the U.S. for $499.99 from B&H

The latest Android powered BlackBerry handset, the BlackBerry DTEK60, can now be pre-ordered from New York electronics store B&H. The retailer is accepting these pre-orders at its store in New York City at 420 ninth Avenue, and from its online store. Because of the Yom Kippur holiday, pre-orders placed online now won't be processed until this coming Thursday morning, October 13th. The physical store is currently closed until Thursday morning.

Turning to the phone itself, this is a higher-spec'd handset than the BlackBerry DTEK50, which BlackBerry calls the safest Android handset available. Based on the TCL 950, the DTEK60 includes a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. A Snapdragon 820 chipset is under the hood with a 2.15GHz quad-core CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of internal storage. Those seeking additional memory can access a 2TB capacity microSD slot. The BlackBerry Productivity & Security Suite is included with Android 6.0, and the BlackBerry Convenience Key makes the application of your choice just one button tap away from opening.

A 21MP rear-facing camera includes PDAF laser auto focus, and an 8MP front-facing camera takes selfies and handles video chats. The 3000mAh battery keeps the lights on. A Type-C port is included, and Android 6.0 is pre-installed. This model is unlocked and works with T-Mobile and AT&T in the states, along with a number of smaller and pre-paid carriers. The BlackBerry DTEK60 is available in your favorite color, assuming that your favorite color is black.
