Possibly being treated to a new paint job for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 in the near future, exisiting owners can download the latest version of the platform for their beloved handsets. OS 5.0.0.586 might've been leaked not too long ago, but now it looks as though the smartphone is finally getting it officially. Not every carrier though is getting the love as they have to wait a bit to see an official release, but COSMOTE customers sporting the Bold 9700 can start celebrating as they are the first to receive it. Naturally it's a quiet release seeing that it probably offers some bug fixes and nothing else too major – but don't forget to erase the vendor.xml file if you're not a COSMOTE customer and plan on installing it. Now if RIM could start dedicating more man power to its next generation platform – that's definitely something to look forward to.
