BlackBerry 10 is coming very, very soon with the official platform launch set for January 31st, and the first devices running on it expect at the end of February…

Good start it is............it'll be a very interesting competition between BB and Windows once even they have reached the prominent apps !

True, RIM is on 3rd position for its BB7 OS. Also, it's losing fans. While Windows is gaining as what tech2 said.

its because of the marketing that microsoft is doing and the lumia 920! while they keep of putting "RIM on its last attempt" on their reports that is very negative impact to RIM and BlackBerry! if theyt could just stop writing those things BB10 will be 3rd and windows will be 4th!

There are already whatsapp and Skype in blackberry appworld so why wouldn't they make one for new os

As far as Skype is concerned, there is indeed a Skype app for some current BB phones (not for the PlayBook) but it's only available to VZW customers and it doesn't feature video calling capabilities. When it comes to Whatsapp, the company itself stated it will not support BB10.
So, if things stay as they are, that would mean no Skype at all for non-VZW customers and no Whatsapp in general. Yep, I know, it sucks... More for RIM though.

Funny how some people don't like reality. Sometimes it's nice to be swept by the hype and enthusiasm but, when the reviews of BB10 arrive, the lack of these two essential apps (Skype & Whatsapp) will not go unnoticed. Still, if someone knows something more, please do let us know.

the appworld apps are for those BB7 apps which is java those file with .jad and .jar... so i think they are not compatible!

While this makes great press, and bumps the app count, I question the quality of app and developer thats going to be attracted by $100. I'm going to guess the BB just got 15,000 ports of bottom tier android apps.

android has 1 million of apps but all thos apps are not realy good app when you download it was fake app and useles app is same for ios or windows my opinion is why android or any plataform let approve fake apps when you complain you not get your money back

I think, that at present market, success doesn't depend on number of apps. People who care about this stuff will choose Android or IOS anyway. Sure, essential apps are crucial, but there are no more than 1000 of them. What can give company a success, is a great phone. When You buy new device, You buy PC with cell phone module in it. I think, that the only way to compete is to create great phone with PC compatibilities. To create a system that will be great for feature phone users, but with advantages of smart phone. When I press phone book button on my android I wait 10 times as long as I waited on my 1998 Nokia. Both Android, and IOS programmers, forgot about basic functions. I think, that there is a gap in the market, that BB can take advantage of.

I couldn't agree more. Every passing day it seems that iOS and Android phones are in fact content consumption, pass-time gadgets. Nothing wrong with that, of course, as long as the "phone" nature of these devices is also taken care of. I think RIM understands the need for someone to stay connected all day long, reliably and not miss out on the smartphone aspect of the device.

Blackberry will come back and in a big way.
blackberry will gain market share in the wake of the dying hype of the android screen size and the iphone magic
