Remember the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha phone that RIM has been giving away to every Tom, Dick and Harry that fancies himself a developer? The idea is to get BlackBerry App World loaded with new apps for the QNX based OS by the time the new models are ready to launch...

Me too. They need to get this in the hands of the general public as well.,

Not the most exciting update in the world as most consumers have never and will never hold the BB10 Dev Alpha, but good to see that things are moving forward to a very much needed successful launch of BB10. I'm still rooting for ya RIM. :)

RIM is doomed if this doesn't lift off.
Good luck, RIM. :D

I want them to do good. I'm not being sarcastic, this is their last chance and they WILL fail if this doesn't do well.

I'm a long time BlackBerry user and there's no doubts that you are correct. I want them to succeed, if they want to exist they have to succeed. When you back a dog into a corner what does it to? Fight for it's life, and that's what RIM is doing right now. The platform will be awesome. But they have to do it right and be at least up with the rest of tech. If not, that's it. Being in the position they are in now, they know all of this and what is riding on a successful launch. I can think of no better motivation to win. :)

Looking forward to the 1st BB10 devices, im glad RIM didn't sell out and lose focus unlike some other company that is now trading at less than $2USD a share due to selling out to a crap OS.
If RIM can mix Android type specs, with their BIS/BES services and also QWERTY keyboards in some models as well as some hq apps and games then they'll have a winner, they are headed in the right direction right now. :)

Apple may sue BB if the new BB 10 phones looked like the ones pictured in the article...

love to see BB10 come soon...
RIM has very good following in the enterprize segment... even now my company provide BB to its employee not iPhone or Android.. though I wish it does...
so if RIM comes with full bang BB10 then it sure will gain its market back... as may still want BB in their hands.... it seems professional...
and BB services are top that anyone can get... BBM is the best of all...
BEST OF LUCK .... RIM & BB...

when people see someone with an iPhone they say that that person can afford and rich!, when they see someone holding a samsung or any android phone they say that that person is a game addict... when they see some person holding a nokia or windows phone they say its unique(WP) and durable(nokia).. but when they see a blackberry device they label them as proffesionals! BB are made for proffesional people! but for blackberry need to survive is to have a strong ecosystem and a killer device! the iPhone can kill its business because iphone 4s's targets are profesional people!
blackberry's strongest points are BBM and QWERTY keypads! but i hope BB will make full touch screen too like this alpha dev device!
