Black HTC One Mini snapped in full glory: 4.3" HD screen, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage
0. phoneArena 03 Jul 2013, 04:37 posted on
Someone has got an early chance to toy with an HTC One Mini, and snapped a few photos of the device, confirming a bright 4.3" display, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Granted, it is smaller than the flagship HTC One, but that's precisely the point with this edition a top-notch phone for those who sniff at large displays...

All they have to do is slap a price point similar to the S4 mini...Baaam, that should teach Samsung a lesson..Not a fan of HTC but I applaud them for conceiving this dream Mini phone, and yes..high ppi count IS a dealbreaker even with such a tiny screen

If htc prices it too high, this device would most likely fail. But nevertheless, this looks like a nice mid range handset
5. FlushGordon (unregistered)
exactly, strategic pricing is the key...i wouldn't mind a $30-$50 difference though

It will have almost 330ppi which is similar to the Z10

Xperia SP vs One Mini vs S4 Mini.
I prefer One Mini.
32. TROLL (banned) (Posts: 4851; Member since: 13 Apr 2012)
Experia Sp looks much better in design than the One!
But the One doesn't state the Cpu its using? Hope it is a S600 and not cheap S400
If the mini had the same feautres as the One loads a girls females would diverge from ip4, ip5. ...
44. james004 (Posts: 486; Member since: 15 May 2013)
They have 2GB ram on this, i dont think it will be any other processor than S600. Display HAS TO BE 720p. its impossible to be 1080p.
2. mercorp (Posts: 987; Member since: 28 Jan 2012)
Make sure it has exoandable memory,or the xperia sp would be the better option.
3. abdane (Posts: 480; Member since: 07 Oct 2011)
it would be stupid if they would feature a expandable memory on the mini and not on the original One...
27. daniel_bargs (Posts: 325; Member since: 27 Nov 2010)
No, it won't. But it will make the saying "There is no perfect device" really true.
17. Potato. (banned) (Posts: 607; Member since: 14 Jun 2013)
It won't have expandable memory.. For a premium look and unibody I will sacrifice expandable memory.
Well, 16gb is enough IMO.

hope HTC put at least 2000mah battery. battery is such a killer feature nowadays, sigh.
7. Genersis (Posts: 210; Member since: 29 May 2013)
I hope it's battery and processor are up to scratch to match(or are similar to) the S4 Mini.
Otherwise it could be hard to decide which one is better.(By specs alone anyway)
8. CanYouSeeTheLight (Posts: 976; Member since: 05 Jul 2012)
Looks very good and has almost identical specs to the Blackberry Z10 which retails as a flagship device, that is what i call a true Mini..
9. wrm2013 (Posts: 189; Member since: 28 Mar 2013)
Finally a powerhouse phone around 4.5 . Reminds me of when the gs2 first came out.
20. vincelongman (Posts: 1800; Member since: 10 Feb 2013)
what do you "around 4.5"?
If you mean 4.5", then sorry but in the leaks this phone is pretty much the same size as the HTC One. They may be leaks but if HTC includes dual front speakers then it will have to be bigger. The S4 Mini is better in term of being smaller. But the One Mini has far better specs the S4 Mini , but I would call the One Mini a powerhouse.
My point is that unfortunately there still isn't a high end phone for people who prefer small phones.
22. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
that's what i was saying, S4 mini is really compact and u can use it comfortably with just one hand. I wouldn't agree one mini has far better specs, just 0,5gb ram more and higher res screen. and if u take into consideration that ppl who r buying phones in this range would be more that satisified with S4 mini specs. I think, in this case, being smaller is better advatage that 512mb ram more, or higher res screen...

i consider myself as an advanced user since i use electronics since i was 6. commodore, amiga, pentium 486, smarphones, customizing, rooting and everything else. i own s2 with official jellybean right now and i can say it suits me just fine, its responsive, fast and the phone is 2011. S4 mini would be a great improvement over this but i dont find it neccessary just yet. keeping this in mind, average user would be more that happy with the S4 mini specs, yet compact and easy to use
24. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
Don't get me wrong, im not saying htc one mini is not a good phone, it is a great phone, just the size is not good for mini range, thats all. and samsung is the only OEM who has covered this segment with a decent specs...
36. wrm2013 (Posts: 189; Member since: 28 Mar 2013)
I come from a droid x, then s2, then s3, bought a q10 but took it back after two days and now have the HTC one. I'm trying not to go with another Samsung until they change the phone materials and the os lag. I'm a huge fan of my one but I do wish it was a tad smaller (i don't watch movies on my phone).
52. xtian1103 (Posts: 361; Member since: 11 Feb 2012)
i think it's just as big as an htc one sv, 4.3, so much pocketable now
10. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
This will probably be my next phone no doubt
11. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
This phone by all means is a great phone, but if you look more closely this phone is not mini by all means, just the screen is mini and the rest if quite big. Altough with greats specs, i don't think it would be cheaper that galaxy s3, or s4 mini, and if priced more or same as a galaxy s3, why would anyone buy this because galaxy s3 is the same size as this mini.
14. XPERIA-KNIGHT (unregistered)
Maybe because some people don't like Samsung and prefer HTC? Just a thought
21. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
That might be the case, but then i would go for htc one (not that much bigger but better specs) or some other model...i was saying just that this model is not in mini range since it is big as all flagships this year. And if ppl want to buy something smaller, samsung is the only choice coz it is the only model with samller size and decent specs...we shall see...
12. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
S4 mini si a lot more compact, and people who are aiming on more compact, smaller phones will rather buy galaxy s4 mini altough it has a bit lower specs but by all means still a great phone. And buying the S3 is more bang for the bucks coz you will get the same specs, size for the lower price, but yes, no sexy unibody, stereo speakers...
13. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
It's just my opinion and it may be wrong, but I dont see it as a true rival for S4 mini since its size is not mini at all...i mean, just look at the pics, S4 and HTC one mini are the same size!! Great phone but shouldn't be called mini coz its not it that category...
33. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
you wrong dude
overall Xperia V is better and cheaper than S4 mini.
Xperia V is light and compact enough for single handed use you will have problem with it
41. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
That is for sure an alternative, but not neccesary everyones cup of tea. S4 mini has better CPU and GPU, more RAM, more compact and lighter and better batter as well. It comes with jelly bean onborad, and will for sure get one or two updates while we all know how sony updates its phones. Since Xp V comes with ICS and will be upgraded to JB, i dont think it will get KLP. So i would say u cannot say XP V is better overall, more it would be a matter of choice and what is more important to you. (hd vs qhd screen, battery, comactness). Personally, i would take S4mini, but that's just me...
46. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
Let me tell you why Xperia V is a lot better than S4 mini.
i know S4 mini have better cpu, gpu, and ram. but if you compare the benchmark result there is no to much different and when it comes to real life performance it would be similar maybe Xperia v can be better because sony skin is more lighter.
In past sony is sucks with update but now they getting better in just short period of time they already updated Xperia Z/ZL/Tablet Z to 4.2 jelly bean and Xperia V also has been updated to jelly bean so i’m sure this time sony will be much better with the updated. oh XDA will always ready for us.
Better Camera, HD display with 342ppi, water and dust resistant, removeable battery, compact and cheaper (around $300 at online store) i’m 100% sure Xperia V waaayy better than S4 mini
if you prefer average performer S4 mini with the price tag around $500 you must be crazy or maybe you just samsung die hard fans
47. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
For the updates, i do not believe untill i see...Sure XP Z got an update. It would be a shame if didn't since its a flagship and its fighting against S4. XP V has a better screen but not that much, and since it has a smaller battery, higer res screen will drain juice quite faster. I mean, qhd res is enough for me on that screen size. I stil have S2 and find its screen great. Im not saying XP V is bad or smthng, just saying both phones have their pros and cons, and ppl will choose for what is more important to them...
48. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
So mainly it is screen, camera (if, since 8mp camera could be better due to the software) waterproof, and maybe price vs battery, software updates, CPU, GPU, RAM, smaller, lighter, infrared port, front camera, better codec support...as u can see, u cant say there is a clear winner. For me is S4 mini, for u XP V...we will see what other will choose, but I can say, S4 mini will be sold a lot more, if nothing coz its sammy:)
49. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
for camera software you can check here
xperia v also have great camera especialy with manual setting a lot better than my GS2
With about $
300 + $89.50 for 3600 mAh mugen battery i can have great midranger smartphone and will have no problem with battery life and it also still much cheaper than overprice midranger S4 mini
If you look at feature to price ratio Xperia V is way better option
with $500 i can get Xperia ZL with better specs and also have infrared
Just like i said only crazy people or samsung die hard fans that think S4 mini is better options
just FYI right now i’m using Samsung GS2, Nokia E6-00, and Xperia Tablet Z
my brother have Xperia V so i know how good that device
50. yudi.nemesis (Posts: 1127; Member since: 14 Mar 2013)
I know all the things you say is your personal opinion, but your opinion does not make
sense at all.
if s4 mini price is around $ 300 I would
agree with you. but this time at the online store
s4 mini is around $500.
wasting $500 for average performer when there is so many better options it was not a smart thing to do
51. phoenix985 (Posts: 26; Member since: 03 Jul 2013)
I agree on that. But i never buy my phones in store, yet over resellers, where the price is going to be appx 350$. If we r going to look at the price/gain ratio, then u r right, but i wasn't taliking about price. Just comparing 2 phones, regardless of price. There r ppl who will pay extra money for phone they consider better. If we r looking price/gain ration then i would go for S3, coz i can get it now for 350-400$, and it is still a monster of a phone. I now what r u trying to say, but comparing just the specs, i said, XP V could not be declared as a winner.

Not really. Atleast ultrapixels are not lame gimmicks.
They need improvement.
28. MrTzr (Posts: 144; Member since: 26 Jun 2013)
With improvement you mean more 'ultra'pixels. I refer crisp images at daylight instead of blurrier pictures with 'better' low light performance. Today's 13MP shooters take better pictures than the One's UP camera.
31. Potato. (banned) (Posts: 607; Member since: 14 Jun 2013)
13mp takes better pictures in daylight
UP takes better photos in low-light
So its a tie.
37. wrm2013 (Posts: 189; Member since: 28 Mar 2013)
I noticed close up my one takes really good pictures super detailed. Far away pictures on the other hand rival my old s2. HTC one2 with 10mp with u.p. haha
43. Taters (Posts: 3660; Member since: 28 Jan 2013)
LOL Delusional HTC fanboy thinking again. It is not a tie because daylight pictures are much more important considering most people sleep for 8 hours a day at night and are much more active during the day.
53. xtian1103 (Posts: 361; Member since: 11 Feb 2012)
you're right! i noticed those too when taking pictures in broad daylight. low level lighting is where ultrapixels shine though. at least make it 8 ultrapixel for the next htc (two?)
39. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 6816; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
I don't see anything ultra with it's camera.
19. mi55u (unregistered)
are you sure that the mini, seems fake, the size is so similar to the one
26. SonyXperiaNexus (Posts: 374; Member since: 01 Oct 2012)
one has a 4.7 inch screen while mini has 4.3 inch. so there is a difference is of .4 inches which is there by the looks of the first pic
29. Taters (Posts: 3660; Member since: 28 Jan 2013)
That looks basically the exact same size? What's so mini about it and why would you choose it over the actual HTC One?
34. roldefol (Posts: 3228; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
Exactly, you could pose the same question of Apple. "Why sell both the iPhone 5 and 4S?"
35. ricco (Posts: 18; Member since: 01 Oct 2012)
On the first and last picture are the same phones and IMHO they are
38. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 6816; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
16GB still not enough memory. should put 32GB or 64GB
40. roldefol (Posts: 3228; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
In a midranger? 16 GB is pretty standard. No way they'd put in 64.
