Big accessories: researchers create a self-driving car guided only by a Galaxy S II

"Our ultimate goal is to implement our program and drive the car in the public environment, and we hope to one day see people using their smartphone to drive their cars in a real-life situation," say the researchers, and we are dreaming of the time we'll just slot our phones in the car holder, and it will drive us home after the last night out, saving on the cab fare...

Until when malware goes into the phone and it takes you on a drive on the opposite lane towards opposing traffic.

Thats the good thing about the iPhone - with Apple Maps, you don't need malware to be directed into incoming traffic.
