Big Red's lineup is about to get even more red and green seeing that a CDMA HTC-made smartphone with the model name PB99300 was passed by the FCC...

great news, this is a great addition to their line up. Verizon is really busting the doors down, pretty much showing the world they are trying to have the best of everything on the best network. Very impressive considering 2 years ago, the best thing they had going was a Dare and a Storm. Way to learn from your mistakes VZW and lets see how well this sells for them.

lets just hope they dont make it look as ugly as the Droid Eris.

My guess is Google will sell it directly, just like the Nexus One for GSM, so it'll probably look exactly the same (except for that nerdy guy following you around with a crowd).

That nerdy guy probably gets more pussy than you ever will. No offense, but he probably does. He's also written an independent movie and has a twin brother.

Actually Verizon will cary this phone in their stores just like the rest of the Droids.

droid eris was ugly??? I like the design of it, very compact and sold build. I went with the Moto Droid just because of the higher specs and more available on board .

what about the omnia two years ago it was a very good phone considering what was out. Actually it was my favorite. I really would not be surprised if the verizon version of the nexus one is actually the htc incredibale.

Omnia=Terrible

when the omnia came out i think it was one of the best smartphones. *gigabyte storage with additional 16 and really nice camera. Now i cant stand to play around with it at all

Ok...I'm pretty new to researching upcoming Verizon phones...is the HTC Incredible and Desire essentially the same phone?

15. jogutier posted on 26 Feb 2010, 20:18

pretty much other than the desire is the GSM version for ATT or T-mobile (most likely ATT)

Thanks

Ok, so two questions here 1) How long after passing the FCC do companies generally wait to release the phone? 2) Will the Nexus one only be available through Goole, or will you be able to purchase it at a Verizon store? Thanks Guys!

11. ace1122 posted on 26 Feb 2010, 16:21

How would you buy anything through google? i dont believe theres a google store so yes you will be able to get it at verizon. And i think it take about 4 months. Maybe a little more or less.

12. spk posted on 26 Feb 2010, 16:29

Currently, the GSM Nexus One avail fro T-Mobile is only available through Google by ordering online. If you head into a T-Mobile store you will not find onje. If it's the same for VZW's CDMA version (and chances are it will be),the phone will NOT be carried in stores. Online only.

duh ...

14. spk posted on 26 Feb 2010, 17:51

"duh ..." well yeah, it's clear to me and most everyone else but I was saying that in response to ace1122 who seems to think VZW will carry it in stores.

16. jogutier posted on 26 Feb 2010, 20:21

Not sure if it will only be sold online with google. That was one of the deal breakers with the iphone. Apple wanted and did have att just sell the item and had to activate online. Apple basically just used ATT for a hand off store. ha ha

4 months? More like 4 weeks. I don't think anything collects dust for more than 2 months before seeing a release.
