0. phoneArena 04 May 2014, 18:49 posted on

Will Paybarah is a 24-year old who lives in the Big Apple. He was riding his bicycle on March 20th when he was stopped by one of New York's Finest, who was apparently going to ticket him or warn him, for running a red light. Paybarah reached into his pocket and pulled out his trusty Apple iPhone in order to video the officer's approach, and the situation quickly escalated...

After Giuliani and now Bloomberg, seems like the best way to stay out of trouble in NYC is to be rich and white.

You must be a minority, as that was very ignorant of you to say.
By the way, he seemed pretty white to me by the sound of his voice and his white hand..

Like op said, RICH & white. Guy seems to lack the rich part of the qualifications.

I don't think that is even enough, you need to have friends on the force. Money usually helps with that part as well.

And you must be a bigot to imply by association that ignorance = minority

Wow just about everything you just said was foolish. your first sentence basically says minorities = ignorance. You went on to say that you could tell he was white based off his voice??? You sir are a damn fool

He also said, "and his white hand.". I guess you forgot to mention that to help make your pointless point. No one will ever king a simpleton like you.

Or, avoid NYC. It seems to be a place that is hostile to pictures being taken of members of the PD. Looks like de Blasio has his work cut out for him.

NYC, anywhere in America, most anywhere in the world -- all that really matters is the "rich" part.

The laws that exist are for the commoners. There are no laws for the rich.

How true! I don't know how these people do math: a girl in a bikini is actually two objects (hopefully, 2 D's) :)

This is real messed up..Police need to do a better job at learning the laws on photo/videography, especially in this era of time. Leh Sigh.

How about retarded bicyclists learn to stop running red lights or just quietly receive their tickets. I'm 33 and I've been pulled over twice in my life also I know multiple police officers personally; they have the job of dealing with the scum of the Earth, treat them respectfully and they'll be respectful to you. My favorite is when I asked my bother who is a police officer how his day at work was he replied with, "Eh... Just another day of dealing with adults who don't know how to act like grown ups."

Take a lesson from Liar, Liar "QUIT BREAKING THE LAW A***OLE!"

The bicyclists behaviour is irrelevant for his rights. He has a right to record a public officer on duty, and he has a right to record in public. The police officer is unprofessional and abusing his power in trying to stop him at a simple ticket offense.

Don't defend the scum of the police force, or the good guys are pulled down along with them.

Quit breaking the law? The police officer is breaking rights. Both are wrong, except the police officer is held in a higher spotlight because HE is ABOVE the law, and he (and many others) are too stupid or lazy or power hungry to actually educate themselves in civil photography, you ignorant tool.

What's funny is you CANNOT I repeat CANNOT find ANYTHING online about a iPhone camera lens gun anywhere. If this was true don't you think it would have made any type of news local and/or national?

Is not a gun but have you heard about what went down in Australia where a whole bunch of tazers that look like iphones where confiscated. who's to say that some of those same devices haven't reach the US. It's not a gun but it will immobilize the officer (or any person for that matter) long enough to further hurt the officer while they are just doing their job.

But his specific words were that they were using the camera lens as a gun.

Quote:"people are using iPhones as guns and shooting cops through the camera lens" end quote

You are correct, the guy is making this up to "save face", according to my friends at 1PP, he was actually arrested for 'the public display of an offensively outdated phone' and not the videotaping the officer. New York City has strict laws on the use of iDuds in public places.

NYPD are one of the worst. I remembered in Summer 2012, i was walking and this guy hit me. Since i did not expect that i fell and i hit this cop. My hot coffee was all over his face. I explained that's not my fault, someone hit me but he didnt even listen to me. He arrested me for the exact same charges as Paybarah.
