Best Buy's 3 placeholder SKU's for the Wi-Fi Apple iPad suggest the sequel is coming soon
Big box retailer Best Buy has posted three placeholder SKU's for the Wi-Fi version of the Apple iPad in preparation for the launch of the sequel model. On Best Buy's online store, the 3 SKU's are listed under "Apple Computer Inc. - Apple iPad SKU WiFi." Two of the listings were priced at $599.99 and the other was $699.99.

The SKU for the current 64GB Apple iPad priced at $699.99 is 9811424 while the listing on the retailer's site was 1945674 for the similarly priced unit, eliminating the chance that this was a repeated listing of the first-gen models.

Best Buy currently offers all 6 variants of Apple's iPad while a sequel to the hugely successful device is expected to be ready for launch this spring. Facing some pressure from Android tablets  like the Samsung Galaxy Tab and others about to rollout soon like the highly spec'd Motorola XOOM, the Cupertino based firm reportedly added front and back facing cameras to the next model. There is also some speculation that Apple will include a microSD slot on the new iteration of the iPad. And, as we recently reported, there are some clues that the screen on the Apple iPad 2 will have quadruple the resoution of the first-gen unit.

I missed the part where the iPad was a PHONE and that's why this is being covered on PHONE Arena.

You can take this as a fake because Apple already posted somewhere that the new ipad will only be available at the apple stores for the first couple of months before going to their retailers.

Because the tablets have optional Mobile Broadband service tied with them...
