Best Buy has some deals this week on unlocked phones

Best Buy has some great deals this week on unlocked smartphones. The discounts started today and last for the rest of the week. The deals are available at the Best Buy store near you and at the big box retailer's online site. These handsets are unlocked, which means that they are not tied down to any specific carrier. Some of the models, like the Motorola Moto X Pure, will work on both GSM and CDMA carriers. Others, like the Samsung J3 (2016), work with GSM operators like AT&T and T-Mobile only.

There are four discounted phones on sale for this week ahead, and a special fifth unlocked handset that will remain on sale through February 4th. The unlocked phones discounted this week include:

• Save $80 on a 32GB Unlocked Moto X Pure -- $269.99 (23% discount; GSM and CDMA compatible)
• Save $30 on a 16GB Unlocked Samsung J3 (2016) -- $149.99 (17% discount; GSM compatible only)
• Save $20 on a 16GB Unlocked Moto G4 (4th Gen) -- $179.99 (10% discount; GSM and CDMA compatible)
• Save $30 on an 8GB Unlocked BLU Life XL -- $99.99 (23% discount; GSM compatible only)

And from now through February 4th, you can take $20 off the 4GB unlocked BLU Studio G. That works out to a 25% discount. This unit is GSM compatible only.
