Best Buy has New Year's Day sales on Samsung phones and tablets
Best Buy is ringing in the New Year with sales on Samsung devices and handsets from other manufacturers. These sales remind us of offers we see on shopping events, such as Prime Day deals at Best Buy.

You can save $100 with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. Regularly priced at $599.99, the slate features a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1536 x 2048 resolution. An octa-core CPU is under the hood. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of internal storage. Keeping the lights on is a 5870mAh battery. Android 5.1.1 is pre-loaded onto the tablet, which is $499.99 with the price cut. This model features Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are both on sale. No surprise there. In fact, you should see plenty of sales on these two handsets as retailers aim to make their inventories lean and mean prior to the expected April unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the rumored Galaxy S8 Plus. This year's flagship model is going to shower consumers with plenty of features.

The current deal on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge cuts the price of both phones by $150 when you activate your new model over Verizon, AT&T or Sprint. You must sign up using a monthly installment plan. And if you happen to be an AT&T customer, this deal also applies to the "rugged" Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, which is an AT&T exclusive.

The Galaxy S7 carries a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, while the size of the Galaxy S7 edge display measures 5.5-inches. Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM. The 12MP rear camera carries an aperture of f/1.7 and offers OIS.

With the sale, the 32GB Galaxy S7 is $15.50 a month over 24 months. The usual price is $28 monthly. The sale price for the Galaxy S7 edge works out to $26.75 a month over 24 months. That unit is normally $33 a month over two-years.

Other smartphones on sale include the ZTE Axon 7 mini. With $100 off, you are paying $199.99 for the device, which features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution screen. Powered by the Snapdragon 617 SoC, there is an octa-core 1.5GHz CPU driving the handset. A 16MP rear-facing camera is on board, with Android 6.0 pre-installed. This deal comes with free two-day shipping.

According to Best Buy, 50% of consumers paying for cell service are overpaying. So if you pop into a Best Buy location with your bill, they will go over it for you and who knows? They might end up showing you how to save some real money. While you're at the store, check out the deals that we've told you about. If you can't make it into the store, click on the sourcelink to do your shopping online.
