Beautiful Widgets Android app now free at GetJar
You can get the $2.75 Beautiful Widgets application for free at the independent app store GetJar, and we don't know how long will the promotion last. The app prettifies your Android homescreen with a variety of good-looking elements, and has been chosen by Google itself as Android Editor's Choice.

It introduces finely animated clock and weather widgets, resembling HTC Sense, as well as a variety of other useful stuff, like connectivity toggle switches, and about 700 wallpapers, skins, themes and the like come bundled with the app.

Have a look at the video below to see what you might be getting for free from GetJar. Beautiful Widgets is often called "Sense UI for non-HTC phones".

This is a great little app, and even at the regular price it's a good deal. I get to have the big clock w/weather on my homescreen just like on HTC Sense, but without having to deal with HTC Sense! Win-win.

Anyone else having problems opening the GetJar app store once downloaded? What program do you use to open it?

I don't think you open it. You just use it to download the app.

After you download GETJAR go to their website and click on the app you want to download, then it should give you the option to choose getjar as a option to download the app. Think of it as a third party package installer.

Hope that helps.

jogutier, thanks for the advice.

I've downloaded the Getjar app store 4 separate times, and each time when I attempt to open it, my phone makes me chose one of three ways to open the app store: HTML viewer, Color Note, or Polaris Office. I've tried opening the app store with each of these three methods and the app store opens with a tons of code. Ugh. Very frustrating.
