Recently, we heard a rumor that Barnes & Noble could be "moving away" from the Nook hardware, and the newest quarterly report from B&N is showing exactly why the company may be looking for a new direction...

Their tablet is too restrictive, no wonder why they're tanking... I wouldn't spend a dime on some special purpose e reader tablet when comparable Android models can do so much more. and then some

They really need to come out with something like the Amazon paperweight. For a serious reader e-ink displays are so much better than tablets. Besides, I don't see the Nook tablet replacing my Nexus 7 in any way shape or form.

They already have one and ergonomically, it's better than the Kindle Paperwhite not to mention, they are not trying to sell you something everytime you turn it off. It's called the Barnes and Noble Nook Simple Touch Glowlight:

I actually currently own one now. Personally I don't like it as much as the amazon equivalent and the light bleeds through the case in small spots.
