It wasn’t long ago that Amazon unveiled its new Kindle Fires, and now it was Barnes & Noble’s turn to compete with new devices of its own…

looking good! but honestly, kindle fire HD is better! it has camera at the same price tag! on the other hand the HD+ is good too! but still no camera! but at cheap price? what do you expect!
i just wish lower than what kindle fire offered! kindle fire 2 starts at $159 same with no camera!
but atleast they have memory card slot!
oh well they are just ebook...
unlike amazon.. they want to have a full proof ecosystem!

the nook hd+ is actually cheaper with a better screen. It lacks a camera yes but the 32gig is also 70 dollars cheaper

fun fact: the expression is actually "foolproof" meaning impossible for even fools to mess it up!
Personally I'm not bothered about the lack of a camera, though it does seem like sort of a prerequisite.

i like them, they're very awesome looking tablets however the Nexus 7 is on the market baby so the dev support that made the Nook Color so good will likely not make it's way to this one so much.

Nice screen on the 7" and cool designs. I'm still not regretting getting my nexus 7 though. I just wish Asus would sell the official pogo dock already!

Good improvement, and very competitive with what's out.
That said, I'm saving any potential tablet purchase for Windows 8 Pro. Nothing else compares with its raw capability

I have the original Nook Color.. I keep telling myself that I will not buy another color e-reader, instead switching to something like the Nexus 7.
But man, this looks good! I really like the design much better bezel-wise than what the Nexus 7 has going on. I do some travel, so having the 7" screen on as small and light of a chassis as possible is a benefit to me.
hmmmmm..... what to do!

Well, no HDMI, not for me. A pity because I think it looks good.

Spec sheets like HDMI output.
And I would rather take the better screen of the 7 than the front camera, and for the 9, would rather have 32GB than 16GB and Front Camera. Nook wins again in specs, but consumers will be conned by Amazon again, that's what I predict.

They actually care about design more the kindle and nexus. Best looking ereader/tablet I've seen not spec wise but visually
