I'll sign, even though I don't root and therefore could personally give less than a s**t about having an unlocked bootloader for myself. Motorola DID promise to have the unlocked bootloader solution done, and since then has at least backed out of that promise for Verizon phones, saying that Verizon said they wouldn't let bootloaders be unlocked.

So what REALLY needs to happen is to petition Verizon to stop being a d**k about its bootloader policy. That would probably be more effective.

Its Not only Verizon.... the milestone, milestone 2 , pro, defy, defy +, atrix, among others outside US have their bootloader locked and they said they promised to have a solution for all those phones. HTC has a bootloader tool, so does SE and others... not fair foe those who want a good feeling on their devices and a cool custom rom

Yeah, Motorola has dropped the ball on the bootloader issue. I mean, it might have to do with issues like the Google purchase, the Bionic launch delay, and then the development of the Razr. But I don't want to make excuses for Motorola.

yeah, i think these people are entitled to something.

Why I opted for the nexus instead of the razr. Tired of motos BS. Unlocked the boot loader and flashed a rom and kernel the first day on my nexus.

Yea I read that my Photon can be unlocked with a program and a few steps. I haven't dug into it since im no fan of custom roms ether. I do say im not a fan Motorola's Applications skin (aka blur with a fancy name) but I just for some reason feel real comfortable with the phone itself as is. But I hope others get what was promised to them.

the Photon was really the last phone to come out with the lower quality interface. phones like the Droid 3, Bionic, Atrix 2 & Razr come with really nice skins.

#OPMOSH. Set my Bionic Free.

Making a Dev Edition is kind of a slap in the face to everyone that was hoping for Moto stay true to there promise about the bootloaders to begin with.
