To me this would be a perfect device. I'm looking to replace my phone and I'd love to have a tablet. The Transformer Prime would be my first choice, but I don't want to pay that much for a non-3G capable mobile device. If the padfone + padstation costs less than a comparable smartphone + 3G capable tablet I won't even consider before rushing to the first available vendor. I think it's probably less of a hassle to dock/undock padfone/station than it is to carry two completely different devices that you need to sync with each other and either pay for two different 3G-connections or swap SIM-cards between those two. And if I can get a proper keyboard attached to the same device I can leave my laptop at home most of the time.

What carrier will the phone be on?

"Nice one, but it depends on pricing, I need to pay less than for separate devices."

same here, otherwise its not convenient at all

I really wouldn't be willing to fork out much for that, nothing over 500 dollars really, and it just doesn't seem very practical. Separate devices is much better suited to me. The concept seemed really great when it came out, but it's taken forever to come out, and I can almost guarantee that getting your hands on one, specifically here in Australia, wouldn't be easy....

Would you get a hi-end smartphone and a 10" tablet with $500? I'd hazard a guess that you'd have to pay more to get those. Of course if you think that you would need to use your tablet and phone both at the same time for different tasks ...

i dont think there is something that you can do on your tablet at the sametime while you're busy on yo table, cos you can answer your call while you surf the net of this device, all in all its a perfect device for ppl who wants to use one sim for their tablet and mobile, without the need of a wi-fi connection. Im not a huge fan of Asus but this is the solution and i bet you more manufacturers are going to go this way, i dont know about Apple, but who knows Samsung might release galaxt s3 that can dock into the tablet chasis and the S pen can answer the fone call, with the keyboard dock

yes, this can replace my netbook and at the same time i don't have to tether my phone again (and drain its battery), but still have phone functionality.. but i am waiting for the price to be announced first..
