As rumors of a Microsoft buyout of Nokia fly, a teaser ad shows the Nokia N9 powered by Symbian Anna

An ad for the Nokia N9 seems to reveal some elements of the Symbian Anna OS rather than the MeeGo software originally expected on the phone; rumors are circulating that Microsoft will spend $30 billion to buy Nokia's mobile phone division...

stop spreading mis information.just because it has symbian looking icons doesn't mean it runs symbian. Nokia typically uses the same icon set with all their os's. S40 and symbian had the same icons for a long time. If you compare some of the shots with those on the meego handset ux page you'll know it is definitely running meego. Hint: the n900 also has "Anna" style icons now. Guess that makes it symbian too

There are two possibilities with the N9:
1. It will be a Meego devices that sports the same iconography of the Symbian OS
2. It is another Symbian phone.
I am inclined to think of the latter since the transition graphics of the phone in the teaser looks different than the usual Symbian (even the Anna) transition and effects that we have seen in the past.
If it turns out to be a Symbian phone, I look forward to a snappy and refreshed user interface that my N8 will be treated to in the months to come...

Been waiting for this phone to replace my N900. Hopefully its comes with everything the E7 is missing. The N8 is only now $359.99 on Amazon, and continues to drop. Hopefully its a sign the N9 release is near.

Do any of you morons know what the word source means. PA is getting news from other places. They do not make-up stories. All legit blogs do this.

Any real blog about the size of PA would check the source and verify its information before posting.. PA has never ever done this..

The OFFICIAL SPECS of the N9 are as follows : 800x480 AMOLED CBD display, with Gorilla Glass and an olephobic coating, St Ericsson U8500 that uses ARM Cortex A9 dual core CPU+Mali 400 GPU, 1GB RAM+1GB Virtual RAM,12mp AF camera, FULL HD video recording, Full connectivity including NFC, 32GB internal memory, and all the Nokia Basics...My friend has 'contacts' at Nokia, and these were just some of the specs he E-mailed me...BUT he said it was the 2010 specs, so it 'might' improve, so I'm hoping the screen res will increase! BUT he told me that about the X7, and the specs actually went down! The X7 was supposed to have a 1ghz A8 processor(the entire Symbian 3 family were orginally intented to have use these), AF and Xenon, and much more, but designers were unable to fit all that in an 'efficient' way...Please I hope the N9 stays on top! I was waiting so long for the Galaxy S2, i think I might wait AGAIN for this beast!
N.B there are alot of different versions and specs of the N9, It will be very interesing to see which one they choose! and it runs MEEGO! NOT ANNA!
