We knew it would happen when we first saw the "Smoked by Windows Phone" booth at CES last month, and that suspicion was confirmed just a couple days ago. Now, Microsoft has finally launched its ad campaign...

Best Buy has a 23" Windows phone in stock right now for $225, Runs on an 8 core intel xeon processor so you should smoke all phones out there. Also, it has a flexible glass so you can fold it smaller to fit in your pocket.

You want a winphone with a 5.3" display?! That's not a phone for sure. That's a pad. Or a coffee tray. Or maybe you are 7 feet tall :)

Phones don't have 5+ inch screens. Those are tablets.

Wait for the windows 8 tablet! Other than minor update needs windows is a great phone at great prices and no crashes. I have ran into apps that slowed it down some but the same apps have the same effect on my android and not even available on the iPhone. I'm not the biggest fan but I see why apple is picky on what apps they allow and believe it or not I got a quick response from Microsoft and they are looking into the app but it's funny that the app is generated from google then find out its an app google is using to spy on windows and apple. But anyway windows to me is a great phone and I don't need all that ram and dual/quadcore. It's just a phone call, check email, surf the Internet. If you worried about all that it's call get a laptop or home computer. As I said I own a windows phone. I had a iPhone but just wanted something different plus got a great deal on a s2 on Craigslist so I'm familiar with all three. Windows is on its way up so I can see why it has so little options to which phone and apple has 1 phone every year but it stands on its own and makes apple tons of money. If Google was or claim they are so great I say there should be a challenge that all brands make 1 phone a year and only update it as apple does and sees who come out on top. Apple 1 phone google 1 phone per manufacter and windows the same but as you know apple is the king and champion of that.

"but given that Microsoft's professional is obviously going up against people who don't really know how to use their own phones, it seems a bit rigged."
seriously!!?? PA get off your high horse! How can someone know upfront, oh this person doesnt know how to use their phone? The challenge has not being winning 100% so how is it rigged? take a picture and post it to FB the fastest......how can that be rigged seriously??
I did this same challenge with my cousin who is a die hard android fan......he lost. I tried the same thing with my other cousin who has had an iPhone for 3 yrs now and guess what she lost too

PA quote from the Galaxy Note ad article which takes the same approach as the windows phone campaign:
"Of course, apologists for Apple complain that Samsung took a power user and put him head to head versus a casual smartphone user."
Why rant about the illegitimacy of the WP ad when something equivalent for Android gets a half-hearted response as the one above? Bias much?

And that's the problem with PA. Instead of giving the winner it's dues, the editors have to justify the loser's loss with some BS excuse. "Oh, the user clearly didn't know what he was doing or he would have won." That's a sore loser argument. That's almost as some loser saying "My arcade stick was broken" when the guy next to him beat him in Street Fighter.

As a WP fan and user I hate this concept of Smoked by Windows being a commercial or in any kind of advertising. Because if I were iOS or Android I would run counter commericials showing boat load of iOS or Android being sold while MS is struggling to do so. I hate this idea by MS.
Here's a counter commercial - Lines of people spending money purchasing iOS/Android; while the MS is giving phones away free and nobodys wants them. I hate this idea by MS. Dont do it!
