Are modern moms and dads too distracted by their phones?

Are you a parent? Even if you are not, chances are you will be one day, which is why we would recommend taking a good look at this Tumblr feed called "Parents on Phones". As the name implies, the photos in the collection are of moms and dads who seem to be neglecting their child since they are too busy doing stuff on their smartphone...

Am I the only one who thought the article said....modem moms and dads...lol?
Not just moms and dads....but people in general are too distracted. I also worry about us becoming too dependent on technology, electronics. I bought my kids a football, frisbee, kites....they need to get out the house more.

Im only proud of my dad using his camera on the phone, and my mom using a touch-screen phone.

I just got back from Universal Studios Orlando and I saw this almost all day, all 3 days I was there. There was even a time where I witnessed a baby wailing and crying and the mom didn't look up, only saying, "Hush. Shh. Be quiet." Along with a dad yelling at his kid because the boy was being loud and interrupting the father's special time with his phone.
I do think this is getting a little out of hand. It's nice to have the smartphones and tablets, but kids need attention and care. Not paying attention while you are out with your children could potentially be dangerous as well.

I put this kind of behaviour up there with texting while driving. Someone might not get killed but it is seriously damaging the most fundamental and influential relationship in your life. These parents will only end up raising kids who will grow up to do crazy things like texting while driving.

I'm a parent of three young daughters. Me and my wife have this problem, I'm technology obsessed to where my wife has to yell at me to put the phone away even while on family trips. There's something in the desire to stay up to date with tech news that is my reason for having my nose buried into my screen. But right after yelling at me I often find my wife staring at her phone looking at Facebook or something equally as life sucking, which then I have to point out. But then I get yelled at that she needs some "me time." It really is a problem of the modern parent, however the majority of these parents would probably find another outlet to ignore their children for, but smartphones are taking the cake right now in fault.

I truly am distracted... it's a very bad addiction... am trying to delete excessive points of contact to lessen this addiction.

when my kids are around i just throw my phone in the closet unless i need to make a call or if we are out i just leave it in the car, phones are like drugs you see people just addicted to it no need to be an addict.
