Apps pre-installed on the Motorola DROID RAZR can be hidden or removed

Don't like the Verizon bloatware that comes on the Motorola DROID RAZR? Want to remove some Motorola pre-installed software on the phone? You can hide the bothersome applications or even remove some of them through a simple process...

Was always in the Razr camp, but this is even more good news. I like.

So, now that Phandroid taught PA how to use a phone YOU HAVE ALREADY REVIEWED, will you be changing that incompetent "review" you have posted?
Too bad you couldn't figure out the phone before the repeated "bloatware" references in your "review". I doubt the "author" has the brain power to be embarrassed, but is anyone pretending to be editor?
Anyone who relies on PA reviews is insane.

xD Oooooo! or you could make a group and put all apps BUT the bloatware or whatever else you don't want in there like you can on the Droid 3 and Droid Bionic.

I am still unsure.. I really like the near instant cam on the nexus.. and the shape.. so far in terms of specs outside of the camera i believe they are about even. so its really going to come down to the physical feel that i enjoy more.. Sound will also play a factor between these devices. I wont go with the rezound this time around only for the fact that i dont use wired headphones ever so beats audio isnt even a play toy here. Last thing thats going to make my choice harder is the screen Do i want the sharper image provided with the razr hehe.. or do i want the softer semi more lush picture on the nexus with the 720 res for vids.
Either way Custom roms will be on the razr for sure and most likely on the nexus as well in the future.. can someone help me make a choice
Oh one other factor that is VERY important to me.. I have a 16gig sd card FILLED! the nexus as i hear wont have one at all .. but if its 32 gig and still the 299 price im ok.. if not then i have to go with the razr or continue to wait for a better device but my ally (running Velocity 1.2 at 806mhz) is really having hardware issues out the wazoo.
Opinions PLEASE not flames.

well if you like both really well i'd suggest the Nexus being that it'll get updates much quicker and it's designed for Ice Cream Sandwich but if memory is a factor you should know that you can't use your SD Card with the Nexus but if you don't mind transferring your stuff from your SD Card to your Nexus which should have 32GB available to you then the Nexus is probably the way to go. i'll say this for the Razr though Motorolas are tough and reliable especially this time around with the Razr and it's extraordinary build quality. they consistently sound the best in phone calls and they can hold on to a signal to save your life so those might be some things to consider too. just read both of the reviews back to back and decide like that.

yeah thats why im hoping the 32 gig version is only 300 that way i can afford to actually do that.. i have my sd backed up on my pc at all times so thats not too much of an issue to copy and paste over. so thats not an issue i just need to be able to have the same amount of space.. I do pc work on the side and all of my diagnostic apps are on my sd card so i just have to plug my phone in and run them from there.. as well as all my books music and the app data for android.

The bootloader on the Razr is locked, so you won't see many custom ROMs for a while (if any). For example, to this day, CyanogenMod has very few supported Motorola phones (I have the first gen Droid, which was their last unlocked phone). The higher resolution of the Nexus will be more than enough to compensate for the PenTile screen and IMO the screens are both around the same.

Making the choice hard with this coming out in 10 hours and the Nexus coming out TBL. If I wait for the nexus i don't have to wait as long for ICS and it's built for ICS so it will be the best for ICS.

I always feel that Verizon has a good collection of top-end phones than any other carrier. Or, is it just me feeling that way? If you are with AT&T (like me), still iPhone 4S and Samsung Gs2 are the picks :-(
Neither HTC Vivid or SG2 Skyrocket seem impressive........

There are no advantages to unremovable bloatware. I have always despised the idea that carriers think they need to not only load crap on your phone, which I guess is okay since it is their device to start with, but make it unremovable even after we purchase it and it is our device. Yes I know the tech-savy can get around it, but the basic consumer can\'t and that is crap. Glad the movement is to get away from this complete garbage. It was one of the things that really has appealed to me about WP. Kudos to Moto.

Looks like you've got a type-o there in the third paragraph. Should be "remove" not "removc." Thanks for the update on the software side of things though!

Im still waiting for the Galaxy Nexus. I have Bionic and the razr is what the bionic should have been. The screen its better than the bionic but not as good as the Rezound. I played with them both at a verizon store today. The rezound is a much better phone as far as screen.

IPS panels are much further developed and hence they're still better than the current generation of SAMOLED ones, but SAMOLED is the way of the future since it has much more potential than IPS.

I've just posted some straight-forward instructions on how to completely disable the bloatware that comes preloaded on the RAZR on my forum, so its not only hidden but also disabled from using your phone's resources. The tutorial is located at http://www.branpute.net/forum/
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=669. I know the team and I would love to hear your feedback. Just my 2 cents ;-)
