0. phoneArena 01 Aug 2014, 07:21 posted on

According to a numerous sources, Apple has just switched on its own CDN (content delivery network) in the USA and Europe. Cupertino is obviously trying to move slightly away from its current CDN partners, Akamai (for iTunes) and Level 3 (for Radio), by ensuring that its users will receive their downloads in a faster fashion, straight from a home-grown network...

OMG "Peter K", please go back to Creative Writing 101:

"According to a numerous sources," - syntax
"Reportedly, the netwoek provides," - Spelling
"It comes beyond a reasonable doubt" - REALLY

As for the news story, it just proves how brainwashed Apple has its' followers. Third-party content delivery networks, so, iTunes is really Akamai, what an iScam!

P.S. Already took a screenshot, don't bother denying this masterpiece; will republish in the NY Times with full credit to you, of course.

iAgree with you too oh malevolent 'dark' one, the article just made no sense and, therefore, dumb. Now please don't take my words out of context and cry racism; you see, iUsed partial quotes because iReferenced just part of your name. After all, your name is "darkkjedii", hence, 'dark', is it not?

Oh 'dark' one, oh 'dark' one, wherefore art thou my 'dark' one?

Attacking the person is always less effective than arguing with logic and focusing on the issue. Otherwise, it will just lead to trading personal attacks back and forth, with no kind of helpful resolution. People like just not willing to discuss an issue with an end goal of walking away with a better understanding. Instead, you just simply want to win their argument by whatever means necessary, and this often involves the use of ad hominem.

And do explain why this is a dump post?

Some are speculating that this is just a red herring - sure apple will use it for software updates/upgrades. But they probably are really going to use it for video streaming.

Hopefully they don't get throttled (since they'll have more skin in the game) by the ISP's like they are trying to do to Netflix and their ilk. Maybe this could help net neutrality...

"Maybe this could help net neutrality..."

How so? Apple has paid the ISP 'partners' to assure its traffic is processed faster than any competitor's traffic.

The issue of pay-to-play is at the core of the net neutrality debate.
