0. phoneArena 17 Feb 2013, 01:24 posted on

Apple's new billboards for the Apple iPad focuses on the 300,000 apps in the App Store available for the slates and each billboard shows an Apple iPad mini and a full-sized iPad running a specific app while the top of the ad has a headline that reveals the category of the app running on the tablets, such as "Elementary" for school related software...

I wonder about how many of the 300k apps for the iPad have actually been downloaded. P.A. had an article about the large amount of apps for iOS that have never been downloaded.

Because iOS users are way easier to sap money out of...

Think about it this way, if many iOS devs ported their apps to Android, people will eventually crack it (especially if it's a popular app) and install it without paying the devs.

And when word gets around that Android has almost all the same apps as iOS but can get it for free via cracking, most iOS users would switch over to Android (since Apple puts so much emphasis on apps, I believe that's the No.1 reason why people are reluctant to switch to Android). And when most iOS users switch over to Android and cracking their apps, how many iDiots will be left at the other camp to actually buy their apps? In the end, the devs lose. And also it would cost them more money to hire and develop an anti-crack system for their apps, so it's overall a lose for devs either way.

Android user here too but for tablets, ipad is ahead in terms of apps. Nexus 7 is good but I prefer iPad for tablets.

Huh, my 200.00 nexus 7 has over 200 tablet apps on it....300k may sound nice, but is the price of an iPad worth it?

I Would say yes. That is the reason why I still keep my Ipad 3... (I own a Note 2, Nexus 4 and a bang for the buck $150 China tablet with a 1280 pixel IPS screen)... Apple exclusive apps are exellent IF you know how to maximize their potential....I can replicate a whole recording studio by just using one app using the provided natural sounding instruments and synthesizers..or I can inter twine several music apps to form a studio quality recording and. thats something that you cannot do on any Android app yet

hmmm...lets see what we can talk about now. "retina display!"...opps...no...android has 1080p displays now. I know "quality material that the iphone 5 is made of"...opps..no..the HTC One will be metal. I know "the 8 mega pixel camera with a saphire lens"...opps..no..Samsung Galaxy IV will come with a 13 mega pixel camera. So lets make commericals talking about a panarama picture mode...opps...Android phones have been doing that since 2010. Okay...lets make a commerical about the noise cancellation on the iphone..opps..damn..Android phones do that too. Well, hell, lets talk about our Apps..lol. Sorry Apple, you had your reign, the fact is, you are behind the times, and your phone iphone5 is already outdated.

Dude my Nexus 4 is already outdated. That's how technology swings these days and when you look at how the big manufacturers for Android are also going to 1 top of the line model with yearly updates, you will be saying the same thing about those models as well. Your definition of outdated is a little wrong b/c using your terms, every Android model that came out last year in the fall is outdated and that's simply not the case. The S3, Note II, One X, and Optimus G are all still great powerful devices that can hold their own against just about everything on the horizon. A nice spec sheet is cool but who updates devices every 3 months just for a 1080p screen or a 13 mp camera?

Seriously apple need too hire new engineers. They cant keep the same design for the last five years. I hope when their consumers see the new iph5/ipad & finally realize it doesnt have nfc nor a full hd screen. They will switch phones

People ar estarting to figure it out. The best thing apple can do to hurt themselves and help their competition is continue on exactly as they have been. Keep releasing the xact same thing every six months (excuse me, little better battery life, marginally better processor, and slightly improved screens REVOLUITIONNOVATIVE!!!!!!) and file bullsh*t lawsuits.
Your cultis-I mean fans want something NEW, not more lawsuits. Please apple I implore you, DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR FANS!

That's no different than any other large company.

I worked for a company many years ago, and salaried people went four years without a raise because, " the company wasn't doing well." Of course, the cost of benefits rose quite a bit each year, so it was like a pay cut.

Each of those four years, the CEO received a raise of over 10% on his multi million dollar salary, and a bonus that was always at least double his salary.

After the fourth year, I stopped working there (with no notice).

You are stupid,my friend.
iPad 4 has 2048/1536 pixels (264 ppi),that's over FHD panel.
I am living in a country from Europe? Why do I need NFC,when it is useless here?
I must admit that iOS should receive a new UI,but the hardware(A6X)+software +300 k optimized apps, that's combination is insane.
The design of iPad,the materials used to build it make it the most beautiful tab on the market. Why do they need to change it when it sells like hot-cakes?If the big iPad will have the design of iPad mini,I will switch from my Nexus 7 to it.
Stop hating Apple's products for no reason and let's be objective.Their products are awesome, stable and bugless.

No, the Xperia tablet S is better constructed, it feels better, the finish is better, the weight distribution is better, It is made of glass and aluminum as well, the aluminum back panel on the Xperia Tablet S is thicker than the iPad. the iPad 4 feels cheap in comparison, and the Nexus 10 has a higher resolution screen, and the Archos 97 Titanium HD has an EQUAL resolution screen at a much lower price. I hate apples products because they are like using a computer with your hands tied behind your back and typing with your nose, SO annoying!

"Bugless".....meanwhile people on your continent can't even make a phone call with with the latest iOS update. So, you don't need need NFC because it's worthless in Europe. What about HDMI, is that worthless? Or, multitasking, file management, Bluetooth file transfer, and USB OTG. You are correct to say why change when it sells like hotcakes. Apple has no need to change when millions will line up to buy the next Apple product regardless of what it lacks and has the same UI as the iPad 4,3,2, and 1. Be objective.

A) iPhone 5 has a new design and its one of the best looking phones available today.
B) iPad is likely to get redesign similar to beautiful iPad mini.
C) apple's greatest strength is their excellent design and expensive materials they use.
D) they already have pixel density so high the human eye can't see it. There is no need for a higher resolution.
E) NFC is great but its not used widely enough to be useful. It's a technology in beta something apple usually doesn't do. How many people actually pay for things with their phone?

Awesome post biophone. Specs specs specs r all that matter to most droiders. When will they understand that the end user experience is what matters most to apples target audience...the general consumer. The droiders sit here all day, and bash something that's not even catered to them for what it doesn't do that they like. That's like liking scrambled eggs but getting mad at a place that doesn't sell them, when u could just go to a place that does.

Heck the full HD is a great example of that. Sure that may be better spec wise however if your eye can't tell the difference then who cares?

Not saying your comment was odd, but why do you hope they switch phones? Also what if it does have full HD screen, and NFC, then would u want them to stay with it? Real question man no disrespect intended.
